Titus Livy- Rome and the Mediterranean (penguin edition of books 31-45 of Ab Urbe Condita- gayly, though, the editor has removed random chapters, and quite a lot, too. I hate when those fuckers do that).

Yep, really gay cover (though the third book's is even worse). Still, I'm 100 pages in and its been pretty enjoyable so far.

Being the book dork that I am, I found this website, goodreads. It took me about an hour to compile all my books and another hour to input them into the online database. Here is the list of books I own: http://www.goodreads.com/profile/whomthebelltolls

Just re-started Book 10 of Wheel of Time- Crossroads of Twilight.

I started it about four years ago then got tired of WoT, but now given that the end is in sight, I wanted to start again as I really loved the first 7 books. I've been going over encyclopaedia-wot.com a lot though because the plot is so complicated and I can't remember what half the characters are doing, or even if some are good or bad.

Read No Country For Old Men by the same author. A great, albeit depressing book- though I hear the Road is even more depressing and even better, and I do want to read it.

i've read a bunch of McCarthy's books, i'd say The Road is my favourite so far just because it's covers such an easy to relate to idea (father protecting son) while stuff like No Country For Old Men and Blood Meridian, even though they're great, cover more specific ideas.

i hate the term best though because really they're just different :X

i think i'm gonna read Blood Meridian again 'cause two days wasn't a big enough break from philosophy.

Neuromancer. :dio:

Except it feels like I've read it before, and like I know the ending. But I don't know where I could have read the book before. It's really bothering me, because bits and pieces are coming together, but some are surprises. Like I read half the book, but it was completely disjointed and not just one half.

Neuromancer for the win (CAN YOU TELL FROM THIS NAME?)

I'm such a lazy bastard, though. I buy books, and proceed to never read them/slash read them half-way through and then never finish them. Count Zero is still calling my name. I've been reading some 100 Bullets (comic books) which are pretty cool. Hard Boiled. I bought the eighth trade paperback/graphic novel/whatever of The Walking Dead today, but I don't trust myself to remember the plot all that well, so I might have to re-read volumes 1-7.

Brahm_K that's a nice cover. What are the Malazan books about? I have read no books from that series or from Steven Erikson in general.

i'm going to Fnac tomorrow to pick up "Choke" by Chuck Palahniuk, hope it's worth it. apparently it's his coolest book.

i'll try to finish The Prince on friday, and then start either Choke or Elephant Memory by António Lobo Antunes.

Oh man thats a loaded question. Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen is without a doubt the most complicated, epic, and ridiculously huge story you will ever read. The series takes place on three different continents, each of which has a cast of hundreds of characters (from about 12 different species/races). The world's rules are complex and will only begin to be understood around book 3, which is about the same time that anything resembling a main plot comes around. Its not exactly character based and more plot based, centering generally around soldiers and how their lives are affected by the machinations of gods and powerful leaders. I reccomend checking out the first book, Gardens of the Moon (the one I'm reading is book 8), but keep in mind that it will be very confusing (since Erikson drops you into his world with no explanations concerning anything and you have to try to figure it all out for yourself) and that the writing style is much worse in that book than in the ones after- a lot of people don't like book 1 and find that the series really picks up in book 2, though I found Gardens to be enjoyable. Erikson handles both humour and tragedy quite well, and despite some weaknesses, is a very original author.

So, I definitely reccomend you check them out. Sorry if I couldn't give a good plot description, but trust me, its pretty impossible.

Haha it's ok, you've already ignited my appetite! I will definitely check this series out as soon as possible! Thanks a lot!
