Stupid USA...give up a goal early, can't possess ball, can't capitalize on a 1-on-1 with the goalie. Still a lot of time left, though.

Boring matches today. Suarez' second goal was magnificent, though.

I have a sneaking suspicion USA are going to get back into this.

I sure hope so. This would be a rather pitiful way to go out.

Yeah, losing against Afro-Americans...

In other news: Doomvuzela!

Nooooooo

Well, Ghana got the goal. Props to them...some of that timewasting was fucking pathetic, though. Still, what a thrill ride--I honestly did not give a shit about football before this World Cup, but now I'll probably keep watching. Argentina or Spain!

What a flopfest! RIDICULOUS!

Either way, I'm officially a football fan.

And the US is toast again. Got an easy draw, and yet choked it away.

Time for Americans to forget about football, again.

The problem is, we don't really have the opportunity to watch too much football in this country.

The ratings were record setting this year. No way this is going away. Soccer has become huge in the US.

They just lost to Ghana, again.

Pathetic.

Despite what the ESPN talking heads say, no one except Latino immigrants will watch non-national soccer.

The flopping and timewasting from Ghana was nothing compared to, say, Slovakia the other day against Italy.

The US did really well this year. I'm glad Ghana won, though. Now go and tonk Uruguay!

Yeah come on.. Soccer is by far not the most popular sport in the US, and the american fans, not the casual ones who'd expect anything of them, should be happy that they almost reached the quarter-finals. I love that Football is getting bigger and bigger in NA.

But it isn't. Football is big among the ever growing number of Mexicans in the USA.

Give the rest a couple weeks to forget about this. They aren't suddenly going to be watching MLS games.

Why should anyone be happy with a team that should have lost to England, tied Slovenia, and beat Algeria in the last seconds? And then got knocked out by Ghana again!

The thing is, MLS is becoming huge. There have been a ton of games televised in the past couple years. Expansion is teams... its getting bigger my friend.

ESPN is very convincing, I'll give them that.

Bizarrely, I am mad and relieved that they lost at the same time. I wanted them to lose to a good team...

Ghana is a good team. African teams are thoroughly underrated and have more professional players on huge teams in Europe than USA have.

I don't care if it's Mexicans or Americans watching, Football or soccer getting more attention commercially is awesome. USA has a great culture for sports and can cough up a great deal of talent if the interest grows.

Portugal v Spain will be the greatest game of the tournament. The Iberian Derby!! It will be a close hard fought contest, but I think Spain's superior midfield and superior forwards will decide the contest. No doubt Ronaldo is the best individual player on the field, but he has not been playing well. Spain hasnt either, but I suspect they will get better with every game. Iniesta and Villa will be the decisive factors in this match. I think Villa is well on his way to winning the Golden boot, Higuain is another candidate, but I think Villa will take it. Higuain needs to have the goal set up for him, Villa will create the chance by himself. Viva Espana.

Much respect to my Iberian brothers, but Portugal will fall!!
