Oh and heatseeker, there is a thread here today in which a whole segment of white guys from the US just got slurred... inbreed, redneck, etc.... go on, show your outrage over that.

And here lies the problem it seems that no one wants to talk about racism against whites because us whites can take it while other races can't which is utter bullshit to begin with.

Racism works both ways folks but some just don't see that. They like to refute their arguments to fit their viewpoints making whites the only race that shouts racist slurs at other minorities.

Yeah, it appears that as soon as I offer him the oppurtunity to condemn the frenchman for derogatory terms against poor uneducated white folk, he fled in the wind.

Let's not argue semantics. There's not much difference between using the word "towelhead" and calling people pussies for being mad about it. The attitude behind the two is the same.

What I'm even talking about is that if you had been born in a Muslim country, you'd be spouting off Jihad hate speech just like them. If you had been born in a different family, you'd probably be spouting pro-PC rants like I am right now. If I had been born in your family, I'd probably be saying the same shit you are. Thus, it's fucking dumb to dismiss other people like you do ("When did our youth become such pussies?").

That's probably a few levels beneath the surface, since all you really did was make fun of PC-ness. But at the same time, it's a lack of recognition that everything you do or say has an effect on the world. If you make fun of people who are trying to be respectful to our Muslim "enemies", you're creating and worsening the conflict. Almost nothing is meaningless.

I really don't think it does. Or at least I don't think racism has the same effect on members of the majority. Which in North America and Europe is white people. Personally I don't think racism against whites is all that interesting to talk about because I (white!) was never particularly aware of my race or racism until like... hearing my friend talk about how he was called "chocolate monster" and chased around until he fell down and cried in school. Calling someone a "cracker" only goes so far when that "insult" also applies to 95% of the people around them.

Well than you need to come down here to the states because they sure do especially around where I live.



Oh yes it does. Racism is racism regardless of what race you are it works both ways just because it's a majority doesn't fucking matter.

Point well taken that what you said and what Steve said are not the same thing. However, I still think that your mocking of "PC-ness" shows a lack of empathy for the people who those terms are directed at.

My point was that if you had been born in a different situation, you could/would be one of those people, so it's just foolish to throw around hateful terms like that. Not trying to say that you WOULD be this or that if you had been born in a different situation, just that you would necessarily be different. It's just chance that you're a white dude from California and not a Muslim from Afghanistan.

With the 2 sides of the coin thing, I was saying that if you look at this discussion we're having and the roles we are playing, if we were Muslims, you would be the extremist spouting off Jihad hate speech and I'd be the "moderate" telling you to calm the fuck down and try to understand where Western culture is coming from. The only difference is that we're Americans and we're talking about hate speech against Muslims. Since I think that we can both agree that Jihad isn't a desirable end for everyone, maybe that puts your stance in perspective. I dunno.

I just want to address one thing here, and then I wanna wrap it up.
Calling someone a "towelhead" or what have you doesn't mean shit to me, nor does calling me a cracker. I tolerate intolerance, because I am against the idea of "thought crime", which may be an exageration of PC, but not much of one. And I am for free speech.
If people can't handle being called a name, than fuck 'em; used to be that people were a little thicker skinned.
