I just watched the entire DVD set of the Firefly show. What a great show. Too bad it got cancelled. :lame:

Best show ever. I've watched that series through at least three times. Did you watch Serenity after?

I watched Serenity before. Thought it was great. Best Buy just had the Firefly season on sale for $19.99 so I had to buy it. I watched it in a week. I can't believe that. I have movies I bought a year ago and haven't watched yet! Haha.

One funny thing, in the unaired episode called Heart of Gold (4th disc) there is a girl in it—Kimberly McCullough—that looks identical to my ex-wife-slut-who-cheated-on-me-while-I-was-in-Italy. People used to stop her and ask her for an autograph, I shit you not. They could have been twins.

That's her. In a funny art-imitates-life situation, in this Firefly episode she played a whore who betrayed people.

The Ringer - Johnny Knoxville gets outacted by the mentally disabled. Quel surprise.

Fearless - Not much of a kung-fuer so not sure how good the fighting actually was (little brothers wanted it...) but it was interesting that the symbol of Chinese culture being overridden by the west wasn't business suits or public whippings, but filthy Christian missionaries spreading their poisonous bile. Jet Li's krieg! :)

Just seen that too. It was ok, but not the best Martial Arts film ever (I think it lost it's way a bit in the middle and the ending felt a bit rushed). I think there's a good reason why Jet Li said that this would be his last epic (and the fact he's looking a bit craggy these days anyway) and that's because he can't compete with the mighty Tony Jaa.

Check out Warrior King, if you haven't all ready, and witness some of the best Martial Arts ever put to screen. The story is awful, but the stunts are simply jaw dropping!

Yes, I've been looking out for that and Ong-Bak, but the local rental place has failed me yet again.

Watched The Sentinel (rubbish) and Napoleon Dynamite (silly but fun).

Ong Bak's a good 'en too, but suffers from a low budget (they kinda show the same stunt from three different camera angles to show you how good it is, but it's a bit annoying). I was expecting better from Napoleon Dynamite. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the other movie I saw this weekend - Waiting - which was a bit like Clerks, but in a restaurant. Recommended

Casino. Never trust a woman, especially Sharon Stone. Unsurprisingly, she played a batshit Cokewhore perfectly.

Saw episode 1 of series 1. So-so, I assume it gets better?

it does, imo. series like lost ask questions that can be answered pretty much whenever the writers want (it started dragging after series 2, imo, they really want to stretch it as far as they can), but in prison break besides the "who is behind it and why?" questions it asks "what's going to happen next, how will he get out of this one?" and since they can't not answer it without seriously hurting the pace the whole thing comes off as much more "satisfying".

so, yeah, i like it :P

Apart from that particular scene, I found it a bit horror by numbers. but THAT scene, you know, the one in the middle, is pure evil...

I loved it!

The new The Hills Have Eyes had a pretty nasty and oh-so-subtle vigilante justice message running through it.

Just sayin', y'know?

Well, the only way to sweep away the capitalist mindset is through revolutionary bloodshed!

And as I said to Charles yesterday, what does it have to do with politics if a buncha radioactive mutants steal your baby? There's only one option...

It was more the transformation from snivelling hand-wringing liberal to axe-wielding all-american hero (via truimphant superhero music) that did it for me.

But he wasn't really a sniveller. The fact that you equate liberal with wimp shows that you're working for the terrorists. Jack Bauer's coming round your house now.
