now reading: Ozzie_Metaller's posts. Is he a bot? his opinion seems to u-turn on everything.

I mean I'm sure we all go through a little of this; when I started posting here I was sure I liked melodeath until I followed some suggestions. now I positively loathe it. but I've never seen someone do so many backflips in such a short space of time. and I love watching those sexy professional gymnasts.

well, when i first came to this site, i was one of those people who thought that Trivium and Slipknot were ''The Heaviest Bands Ever'', but then i discovered melodeath and kick-ass bands like Darkane, The Haunted, Entombed, In Flames, Morbid Angel, Testament, etc and they shit all over everything i was listening to. I hadn't bothered looking out for bands that weren't mentioned in Metal Hammer (i now hate this magazine with a passion) and I was listening to fucking bands like Hatebreed, Madball, Atreyu (urgh), Avenged Sevenfold, and all the other bands who are pushed because they're the 'in' thing. However, there are some bands who I will always love and cannot be persuaded to hate, like System of A Down (except the ''Steal This Album!" CD.)

That said, I don't really like most death/black metal, even though i like melodeath, and I don't that will change any time soon. I love progressive rock/ metal, though, and now I'm more acceptng of power/true and doom metal. My favourite genre of metal right now is thrash, I just keep listening to it! But there are a couple of metalcore bands like KsE, God Forbid, Unearth that I still enjoy a lot, even though they're not metal enough for most of you guys.

Fucking flip-flopper. Don't alter your opinions because others disagree with them, and I am absolutely certain that that is precisely what you did. I like Avenged Sevenfold. I also like Nasum and Watchmaker. Fuck, I like Dope. I'm listening to Dope right NOW. Like what you fucking WANT.

Stan Nicholls - Orcs

Its quite good, but it feels like something is missing. Nicholls is also quite guitly of "and here's another city full of a weird type of creature for me to describe to you - don't get too attached, we'll be moving to a different one by the next chapter."

Great read .. despite being a little heavy on the 'tallica worship. I love his consice descriptions of what metal is and why people like it.
