I can see the logic behind walcott. Hes said to be a lot faster then Henry (believe it or not!) and from what i've seen of his Southampton days he's a good finisher. The logic is with a midfild of lampard, beckham and gerard we have probably the most accurate passers in the world that can seek out walcotts runs and use his pace to get in behind defences. Couple that with Crouch's ability to hold the ball up i can see why he has been chosen. But i don't understand not having Wright Phillips, he would make and excellent sub. The type of guy who can change games.

I think he's out because he plays exactly the same position as Lennon, and Lennon's been better recently... I suppose that must be it.

But seriously... Walcott has literally not played 1 minute of premiership football... Literally!

It is a strange decision but like i said i can see the logic behind it. But theres a deadline for injured plays i think a week before the cup starts so i would imagin bent will be called up to the squad then.

Quote:
Juventus may face relegation if found guilty of match-fixing

Juventus, who along with AC Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio are being investigated for suspected match-fixing, could be relegated from Serie A if found guilty.

According to Italy's Sports Justice Code, clubs proven to have direct responsibility for fixing matches will be demoted.

If indirectly responsible for rigging games, Juventus could be stripped of last season's title.

Another consequence could see the Turin giants revoked of this season's title if on Sunday they claim the one point they need from the final match of the season to win it.
Any potential sporting sanctions will be carried out by the Sports Judiciary, which comes under the umbrella of the Italian football federation (FIGC) but is an independent body.
Juventus are currently refusing to talk to the media, but AC Milan and Fiorentina have protested their innocence after they were formally placed under investigation by Naples magistrates on Friday for alleged match-fixing.
"We have done nothing wrong and we will prove it," said AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.
Fiorentina owner Diego Della Valle was equally defiant.
"We are not involved in this and we have nothing to hide," he said. "We hope the magistrates can sort this out quickly."

And Dago, your club is also involved, it seems :/

EDIT - as you can see, it's match fixing, though a few years ago there was a doping scandal.

I think that kind of shit has happened everywhere from time to time, demoting sounds a little extreme.

demotion and a heavy fucking fine is what should be applied. this crap is ruining football and must be stopped.

FC Porto has been suspected for this crap, and there was an actual trial here, with evidence like phone conversations between the club's president and referees, plus reports of referees in certain fancy whorehouses paid for by FCP, but the trail "mysteriously" led nowhere.

demote all of those clubs from Serie A and you'll see the meaning of ruining football. Italy will be complete shite for years.

so more deserving teams should get fucked over in the name of wealthy powerhouses like AC Milan and Juventus?

it's bad but it has to be done. losing sponsorship and tv deals would do them just fine.

the serie a would suffer but would maybe see the rise of smaller teams.

EDIT - and think about the positive consequences for the Serie B teams :P i guess they wouldn't really lose TV deals, and the serie B teams could have a lot to gain with playing, say, ac milan. stadiums with more people and tv rights (i think the home team gets some $$).

Serie A games are on tv here, but if say Milan is in serie B it will not be, because I or nobody else would want to watch a one sided game that Milan destroys the other crappy team 10-0, so they'll lose a lot of money from tv rights. I'm not a fan of Milan, I'm a fan of football and football is played by good teams. And smaller teams won't rise to anywhere just because they're automatically promoted. They won't win money too because nobody will watch their games.

Plus demoting those teams will lose a lot of money for Italian FF and UEFA because they won't be in the champions league. Television companies will suffer too.

There's too much to be lost from something like this and they should be idiots to do that. Plus if (for example) Galatasaray were demoted I'd go and burn the motherfucking federation down. The backlash would be too big to take.

you may have a point, but tell me, should the other teams suffer from this crap too?

and trust me, the big clubs will always have tv rights. the fans will still watch the games, they may lose some of the others, but people will always want to see the top players do their magic. either way the second division teams will get higher attendences as people will want to come and watch the giants play their local clubs.

but anyways, at the very least, some seriously heavy fines, and maybe a few closed-door matches should be in order. surely you agree with me on that.
