Honestly Zad, how come you always watch the worst movies ever? Are you like some kind of movie-masochist?

A few days ago I saw 10 minutes of Son of the Mask.
Last night I saw 5 minutes of Steal.

I'm pretty sure those were among the 15 worst minutes of my life.

Underworld is ok, I like the dark settings and some of the interiors. And well... Beckinsale is hot, can't help it. Ok actress as well. To be honest it's one of the better vampiremovies when all comes around, which says alot about the genre.
I've seen Nightwatch and Daywatch. It was hard to follow every part of the story, but it worked out pretty good.

While talking about foreign films, one must bring up Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hero and House of Flying Daggers. All extremely good.

I suppose that's the thing. I personally think underworld is a good concept, but too much of a CGI mess (Van Helsin anyone?) which kinda make the set peices a little bit of a cartoon than a 'horror' feel. And agreed, I would do Kate B in a blink of an eye ( and probably last just as long!), and she is ultra fine in the second movie!

As for the Asian epics, all quality Movies. But under no circumstances view one called 'White Dragon'. It's a bit like Romeo and Juliet (the Leo Di Caprio one), where it's a chinese 'epic' with modern day references, but done awfully.

And YOU'VE SEEN DAYWATCH!!! Jealous! I can't wait for that at the cinema this summer!! Must see film of the year for me!

Cinema this summer? Hmmm, I thought it was a couple of years old. Well, I know how it is, in Sweden for example, many of the Oscar nominated films this year have not even come to our cinemas. Looking back on previous years with masterpieces like Crash, Million Dollar Baby and Gladiator, I feel that 2006 was somewhat a weak movie year, atleast for america. Have not seen Babel yet though.

Something like that. AND RAD FANCIES ANNE HATHAWAY!!!!1111

RW (yeah, slow day):

Silent Hill - Not bad. Never played the game, so probably missed most of the subtle stuff. And that ending was strange. Anyone want to PM an explanation? :)

Cursed - It starts with a Bowling For Soup concert. And gets much worse.

Click - I know he's J00ish, but someone please kill Adam Sandler.

The Truman Show - Good, not great.

Like Lord of the Rings I think they did them all at the same time, but I checked to be sure and the release for Daywatch appears to be summer 2007 here, so I guess Sweden rules again (I mean you have Opeth and we have Bullet for my Valentine - go figure!).

I only tend to go to the Cinema for something that looks worthwhile and I only went twice last year. Casino Royal was the last thing I saw and it was worth it (despite the sore ass at the end of the 2 and a half hour marathon). I suppose what you're saying's spot on, although I do fancy Babel too.

Well I did not exactly see Daywatch at the cinema... I guess we could say that internet rules

Casio Royale was also the last film I saw at the cinema, really great stuff. Hopefully, I will enjoy Babel as well. Although I don't think it's going on any cinema nearby, so it's up to friendly neighborhood internet again if I want to see it before the Oscars. Sigh.

The Departed - as good as I expected. In other words: fucking awesome!

Bad Educcation - decent, Almodovar has done better (This was the fifth Almodovar film we saw in spanish class  )

Btw Zad, congratulations for even managing to sit through Bless the Child, holy crap I wanted to gouge out my eyes after seeing that movie a year ago.

Pan's Labyrinth - 9.5/10 Amazing movie. When asked what my favorites are from now on, this movie will definately be a part of that.

The Machinist - 7/10

Liked it, but for some reason the ending let me down a bit. After seeing the OMFGAWESOME endings in Fight Club and Jacob's Ladder (the 2 films I'd say were the most similar to it) this didn't quite do it for me.

me2

I think an actual conclusion would have been better than "lol he's crazy!1!11!!!!" in that movie.

Ive just watched Babel, and it was horrible, i dont know what people see in this movie, there is absolutely no plot!, it is fucking boring and the acting is not the most amazing ive ever seen, so why is people telling this is such a great movie? i just dont get it. The director must have felt really clever in coming with name babel like "hey since there are like four languages in this movie lets just call this piece of shit Babel" but in fact there is actually no other name that could be applied to this movie since its about fucking nothing! it might aswell just be called "A Movie", i mean that guy must have been "hey lets just shoot three different boring stories and relate them to eachother in something so random and stupid that people would think its art, the plot? dont worry about it, this movie is going to be beyond plot and entertaiment, yay! wheres my Oscar?" , all three stories are so fucking boring that i cant really tell wich one was worse, oh no wait i sure can: the mexican one, WTF was that? like really, what was the point of it? in fact what was the point of the whole fucking movie? the only good thing about this piece of shit was that there was no moral teaching at the end or at least i missed it, please if anyone actually enjoy this crap please explain me why.

I missed Pan's Labyrinth on the theaters so i just have to wait for the DVD and i hope its better than Babel.

On the other hand i also watched an spanish thriller called "Nadie Conoce a Nadie (Nobody Knows Nobody)" and it was really good, good story, great acting and enjoyable music, and they say mexican movies are catching up to the spanish ones, yeah like in a million years.

I hate how all "powerful dramas" always feel the need to have 3 different plots that are mildly related.

The Science of Sleep 8.5/10

Great movie. If you have ever wondered what a narcoleptic's life would be like, watch this movie. It is very weird, but it is definitely worth the hype. I love these independent movies.
