Barcelona won, good for them. I think Barcelona is a boring team to see play. I wish there were more teams like those from the Bundesliga and the Premiere League.
I hope next year's final will see Man U opposed to Dortmund.

I want Liverpool - Bayern.

I hate Barca, so fucking much. Man U are pretty boring as well, though.

the best team won tonight. Barcelona dominated, had far more possession and opportunities and won it fair and square.

frankly i wanted both of them to lose. on one side was a team of cheaters (it was good to see Busquets get a shot in the face, for once something or someone actually touched him), on the other was a side benefiting from the supreme injustice that is playing a CL final at home*.

*as a supporter of SL Benfica, who lost 2 finals on such situations, this is something i feel very strongly about. first we lost to Bobby Charlton and George Best's Man United at Wembley, and then to Luis Suarez' Inter at the Giuseppe Meazza. i looked it up, and this year's final venue was booked some 2 years in advance - i ask you, do we really need 2 years to prepare the Champions League final? Are the quarter-finals not enough to determine a good stadium while making sure no team will play a European final at home without a real reason for it?

Imagine your team fights all the way to the final - by what right are the other side playing, in practise, at home? why do we need 2 years to book a CL final?

Oh and Liverpool aren't? Jeez.

Anyway, the best team won last night, no doubt about that, but United played a shit match as well except for the first 10 minutes. They should hae kept that pressure up, it would've made the Barca-players extremely uncomfortable.

Anyway, this will forever and always remain in the shadow of number fucking 19.

Liverpool have my support because YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE!!!!!

Anyway, as much as I hate Rangers, it would be cool to see a Scottish team do well in the CL for once, although I don't have many illusions about their actual chances against the likes of Barcelona. What's David Wier going to do when Messi runs by him? Fuckall is what.

Fuck's sake, Scotland, play better football! Between Miller, Maguire, Brown, McGregor and Naismith you can't take down Ireland, whose only half decent player is Keane. What the fuck.

See that bit where Miller was floored by Fahey (I think) in the second half, that was defs a penalty.

so Platini just made a series of some of the most retarded statements i've ever heard on football.

Quote:
”But I eliminate doubt with the use of additional referees in the Champions League and the Europa League.
oh yeah, they sure have been useful lol. plus, because they see the goals either from behind the goal or the goalposts, they're uniquely positioned to be of absolutely no use in helping to decide whether the ball actually went in all the way.

"The day we have goal-line technology, five minutes after you will ask for offside technology.
yeah, it sure would suck if we had offside technology

"I don't want this in the game. Football is human, football is organised by people and we have the most popular game in the world because it is human.
conclusion: americans aren't human.

"If we need technology, we need it more for offside than for goal-line. Ten times in a game there may be a dispute about offside, one time every 40 years there is a need for goal-line technology.
if i need a car, i need one that does 300km/h more than i need one that can do 200.... so i'd rather not have a car at all. and i won't even comment on that "once every 40 years" line.

and now this bribery scandal and Sepp Blatter's stranglehold on FIFA.

these assholes will have our kids playing fucking basketball instead, if they don't get their shit together.

^Platini's a moron.

Paul Scholes, probably one of the most hard-working, consistent and dependable players of his generation, retires after 17 seasons with Manchester United.

675 games
150 goals
10 Premier League titles
3 FA Cups
2 Chapmions League titles

The man has had one hell of a career.

Respect! :dio:

Great, now we'll get him on the telly as well, blabbering about football with a confused look on his face. Listening to Gary Neville during the Champions League final was an incredibly annoying experience.

River Plate got relegated from Argentina's top flight... what a humiliation for the most victorious club in the country.

apparently Buenos Aires looks like a warzone after the fans rioted in the streets. fans of Belgrano, the team who won the relegation playoff, were trapped in the stadium for hours, it was too dangerous to leave.

Image

holy shit.

Boca Juniors supporters aren't making this any easier to swallow for the River fans

it's a shame, i do like River. Benfica stars Saviola and Aimar came from there...

It sucks that he had to retire because of an injury. He was one of the best central defenders in the world in his prime, if not the very best. Many :dio: to a great career!

Good riddance.

Is anyone following the ladies World Cup ? I had seen females playing football 10 years ago, I remember laughing my ass off. But nowadays it's not the same crap at all, they for sure made a lot of progress. It's genuine, interesting football.

There's France - England right now, 0-0 for now. See ? Even the scores are manly. :dio:
