I hate Detroit, I also dislike the penguins. However I am hoping for the penguins specifically because of Crosby. Not that I like him, he is a good player, but all the media attention is driving me mad, especially where I live about 5 minutes from where he grew up and played hockey in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, its like what everyone else has to put up with times 42. However, if they win, Crosby would most likely bring the Stanley Cup here for a visit like Giguere did last year for Anaheim (since he played for the Halifax Mooseheads out here) and that would be pretty booomb.

yeah, last year when the Ducks won, the cup came here to. Because of defenceman Rick Jackman. He didnt really do much in the playoffs but he did play a few games here and there, and to top it off he played for the Leafs... :D

Ya... I'm happy Detroit's winning, but I was really hoping this would be an exciting cup final. Instead its been BORING.

Awesome game last night. One of the best I've ever watched.

Fleury was amazing. 3 goals in on something like 60 shots in over 5 periods. Some of the stops he had to make were crazy.

What a goddamn fantastic game. Pens should be worshiping Fleury right now- because they did not deserve to win. Still, the more games the better, I say.

Yeah he was good but I've seen goalies being more out shot and in less amount of periods. First that comes to mind is Ron Tugnutt who played for the Nordiques at the time versus Boston (Cam Neely, Bourque era) where he faced 75 shots. For those interested the game ended with a 3 -3 tie, and most of the game was played in Quebec's zone.

Awesome! Congratulations to Detroit, and I'm extremely happy to see them take it all, since they most definitely deserved it and since they're one of my favourite teams. Kudos to Pittsburgh, though I have no doubt that they could have played much better- but Crosby, Hossa and Fleury definitely gave it their all. It is too bad that this may be as good as they get for the next few years, but we'll see. And damn, that last minute was tense- I was quite sure the puck had gone in in the last second.

And happily now we don't need to hear about the European captain curse ever again. Go Lidstrom!

Wings win. And I win. I had a bet on this series, and now I shall recieve my dues.

I second the Go Lidstrom. next Swede captain to win shall be Mats Sundin. I just dont think it will be in Toronto...

I meant Sundin, not the cup...

Detroit won as I predicted :P. Cred to Pittsburg though, Fleury was fantastic at some occasions.

So CBC dropped the Hockey Night in Canada theme song and within like 2 days TSN and RDS got the rites. So now every game next season on TSN or RDS will have the song. Its cool that the song will still be around, but not hearing it on CBC will just be so weird. Its like Canadas second National Anthem.

As long as RDS has it, I'm happy. With full offence meant to Don Cherry, Hockey Night in Canada can fuck off.

Leafs have a new Coach. Third most winningest coach in the league today.

And the Kings just dismissed theirs... I don't neccessarily think coaching was their main problem, but it can't get much worse I guess.

The NHL draft is coming up soon, as a Kings fan I'm excited. We got the #2 pick AND a total of 15 picks in 7 rounds (8 in the first 3!). I'm hoping our future begins now.
