A very injury-plagued Hungary (without Gera and Dzsudszak among others) - Sweden 2-1. There goes our chance to qualify as the best second-placed team..

It's not over, you'll play an already qualified Netherlands in october... You're still in good position for direct qualification. And Greece & Croatia, strong contenders for best 2nd, still have to play against each other... Nah, it smells good for Sweden :)

edit: oops, just saw group H with Portugal, Norway and Denmark. Forget what I said, sorry.

Portugal 4-0 Cyprus. shitty display with 3 goals in the last 10 minutes. a massive improvement over the Carlos Queirosz days, but still unacceptable for a team boasting players of the caliber of Moutinho, Ronaldo, Coentrão...

also, Ricardo Carvalho left the training camp without notice after being assigned to the "substitutes" team during a practise match. the manager already said that Carvalho won't wear the Portugal shirt again while he's in charge.

Yeah, I had a thought for you when I saw "90' (pen.)". I watched the goals on Youtube, there wasn't any contact, the penalty shouldn't have been allowed. But that's football, unfortunately.

Not just that, but we were denied an OBVIOUS penalty 2 minutes later, in the overtime, when our attacker was carded for diving. Some of the worst refereeing I've ever seen. Not to mention Brown and Miller missing the game on Tuesday.

Look at his face. He knows that wasn't deserved.

Lithuania lost to Liechtenstein, I'm not too worried. My girlfriend's in Lithuania right now, I've told her to watch the game with some friends, but all they care about is basketball. Ah well.

It's disgraceful, we really our lethally lamed without Miller and Brown. Can't even score a penalty.

Ooh Switzerland are doing very well, 3-1. Looks like I might have a team in the world cup after all.

Woops, don't know what I was thinking. I obviously wasn't.

Btw, does anyone else feel the whole thing would be much more interesting if they stuck all the strong teams like Germany, Spain and Holland into a group of their own? It would give more chances to smaller teams and we'd have more possibilities of underdog victories. It just seems like every group has its obvious number 1 team and everyone else just competes for second place.

The tournament will be expanded from 16 to 24 teams in 2016, anyway. Which is good news to me: more underdog teams, easier to qualify.

FUCK YES COME ONNNNN!!!

Dare we hope to qualify? If we beat Lichtenstein and the Czechs lose to the Spaniards (which seems pretty likely) we might have a chance.

Might. You still have to play Spain. IN SPAIN. They probably will be already qualified though, so you indeed have a nano-chance.

When we played Spain in Scotland we almost managed a 2-2 draw. Spain has guaranteed a first place, obviously, but it's between us and the Czechs for second place, and we might just make it, if only on goal difference.
