just finished season 2 of Rome. Good last episode that, as lots of last episodes of a season do, leaves us with the question if there's going to be another season. Let us hope so.

Indeed. I know a few people didn't really like the finale but most seemed to really enjoy it. In particular, I thought The final Atia scenes were awesome as was Antony together with Vorenus. Maybe some day we will get another season or at least a final movie.

i hope so. i do regret the death of Vorenus and Antony, two great characters. Vorenus for showing that men can be both good and evil and Antony because he was simply hilarius. Yes, i must say i was very pleased with the final scenes of Attia, although she is a enormous bitch, i can't help feeling some kind of sympathy for her.
The Pullo&Caesarion, Octavian and Octavia scenes leave hope for another season though. They could make a very creative and enjoying third season, but probably at the cost of the 'authentic' storyline.

Well, I think authentic historical accuracy went out the window a long time ago with this show. :D But that didn't stop even some of the historians among us from enjoying the show, and I do think they have enough material for at least a movie if not a half season more.

I'd say they only went out on historical accuracy because they had so little time- so they had to get rid of Sextus Pompey, Lucius Antonius, Fulvia, Scribonia, and a lot of people- its too bad, but understandable. Agreed that the finale was awesome, and sorry, but I don't think we're getting a third season.

Yes. It would have gotten out of hand and much too complex for the average viewer to have all the major historical characters. Too bad the pompous naysayers of the show didn't really consider that. BTW, Scribonia was going to be in season 2 but only pulled when they found out they weren't getting a third season.

I saw that the other day, and it wasn't really that good...I mean, it was entertaining and everything, but there were some major glitches in the storyline that just make you say "Why the hell would they do that?". Still a decent movie, though.

I saw Grindhouse the other day. Simply the most ridiculous movie I've ever seen...it was entertaining as hell, though.

I don't need to see Grindhouse to know the plot of the movie: plastic sex and ridiculous violence. The same shit as Sin City...gosh darn it, Tarantino and Rodriguez are fucking innovators, aren't they!

There really wasn't that much sex in the movies themselves, although the "prevues" are a different story...and Death Proof actually is a bit different than you might expect.

I went into Grindhouse thinking it was going to suck as well, but it is really good for what it is.

VERY funny. I was in tears laughing on a couple of occasions. Highly recommended, especially if you liked Anchorman.

Well, my friend and I walked out of (first movie either of us walked out on) Tarantino's pointless unfunny and uninteresting dialogue-fest movie. At least in Pulp Fiction and Reservior Dogs the dialogue was sometimes funny or interesting.

I was surprised that Rodriguez's movie was better considering all the critics said QT's film was better, but that's only because stupid stuff happened in Planet Terror, as opposed to just merely nothing as in Death Proof.

At least some of the fake movie trailers were funny---loved the Thanksgiving parade with the poor turkey mascot.

Grindhouse and 300 managed to make Sin City look like a truely excellent film, which I never previously thought possible.

And I know Grindhouse wasn't meant to be taken seriously, but I thought it miserably failed even at entertainment.

edit-Yeah Noodles I know most people loved Sin City, I was the jerk contrarian on this very thread back when it came out.

Saw 300 last night. Damn I hate growing up sometimes. I know I would have loved it about 5 years ago, but I just can't like a pointless, cliché filled movie anymore, despite how beautiful or manly it is. It fails in so many ways where films like Braveheart and Gladiator comes out shining. :lame:

Gladiator really doesn't hold up after the first viewing. Russell Crowe basically sucks, and the plot is pretty thin. Nice battle scenes, but hardly any substance.

you know what, it is funny but I like Troy as much as I do Gladiator. The battle between Hector and Achilles is an all timer.
