I bought Children of Men recently. Looking forward to watching it.
I saw that the other day, and it wasn't really that good...I mean, it was entertaining and everything, but there were some major glitches in the storyline that just make you say "Why the hell would they do that?". Still a decent movie, though.
I saw Grindhouse the other day. Simply the most ridiculous movie I've ever seen...it was entertaining as hell, though.
I don't need to see Grindhouse to know the plot of the movie: plastic sex and ridiculous violence. The same shit as Sin City...gosh darn it, Tarantino and Rodriguez are fucking innovators, aren't they!

There really wasn't that much sex in the movies themselves, although the "prevues" are a different story...and Death Proof actually is a bit different than you might expect.
I went into Grindhouse thinking it was going to suck as well, but it is really good for what it is.
I'm going to see it tommorow, so I'll let you know if I'm plesantly surprised.
Well, my friend and I walked out of (first movie either of us walked out on) Tarantino's pointless unfunny and uninteresting dialogue-fest movie. At least in Pulp Fiction and Reservior Dogs the dialogue was sometimes funny or interesting.
I was surprised that Rodriguez's movie was better considering all the critics said QT's film was better, but that's only because stupid stuff happened in Planet Terror, as opposed to just merely nothing as in Death Proof.
At least some of the fake movie trailers were funny---loved the Thanksgiving parade with the poor turkey mascot.
Grindhouse and 300 managed to make Sin City look like a truely excellent film, which I never previously thought possible.
And I know Grindhouse wasn't meant to be taken seriously, but I thought it miserably failed even at entertainment.
edit-Yeah Noodles I know most people loved Sin City, I was the jerk contrarian on this very thread back when it came out.
