And the Kings are going for Tavares, in other words last place. :(
I wouldn't have believed it if you told me but the Kings are actually looking worse this season than last. Barring some significant trades this season will be a disaster.

Montreal is looking good. Really good. It won't matter though, Detroit will repeat.

The Kings will have competition this year for last place: Toronto

Ha, I was just going to say that.

I was going to say it like this though: Hey! Tavares is going to be a Leaf!

But with the new defence first system, and most of the bums gone plus CuJo is better than Raycroft we may win a few games. But all that will do is hurt us in the long run.

That's fine, I'd settle for Hedman :)
Toronto doesn't look that bad though, Toskala is good and their defense is at least average. I expect NYI, Florida and Atlanta to give you some competition near the bottom.

Even though the season looks to be terrible for my team I can't wait for it to start. I need my hockey fix.

Yeah I know Atlanta and the Islanders will do worse than the Leafs this year. I actually like averbody expecting us to be last or be fighting for last. Gives us a chance to surprise. Coming into last season people were predicting the Habs to finish in 14th and they ended up winning the eastern conference. I don't expect the Leafs to do that, i'd rather get a good draft pick. But i'm with you, I need some damn hockey now.

Oh, goodbye Bryan McCabe and good luck in Florida.

still 16 days until the pre-season.

There's a huge difference between last year's Habs and this year's Leaf team.
The Habs had a lot more offensive potential and a solid goal tending which the Leaf's don't really have.

I agree with the offense, but our goaltending is fine with Toskala and Joseph plus Pogge in the minors. With a defenseive minded team, and lots of depth in the D position it will be harder for teams to score on us. But we will not put pucks in the net. I also found out the Fletcher is saving our final 7 million for Sundin. We don't need him anymore, he will just make sure we get 8th-11th wich is not good for this team, we need another top 5 pick.

you don't need top 5 picks to build up a good team... look at the damn Wings with all their late draft picks and the Habs with their constant middle of the pack draft picks. What the Leafs need is for their recruiting to get their picks straight.

And I coulnd not agree with you more, but I am sure drafting a Tavares or a Hedmen will definitely help us. I would actually like to get the other Schenn. He is like Doug Gilmour 2, and i'm sure MLSE would go for it, they could market the two brothers and make a hell of a lot of money out of it.

Only 14 days until the pre-season...

The real power of the habs is their fans, people are crazy for hockey here. I can't wait for the season to begin. If we could make it to the finals, cup or not, there's gonna be a fucking riot over here. It's the 100th anniversary of the team too, we gotta win!!! GO HABS GO!!!

So DW. Can you somewhat explain to me how the Hurricanes have done in the draft? I do not have alot of knowledge regarding the youngsters. I have been keeping up, but not understood very much.

and it's about time.

It's basically the only time of year things seem positive :)

And players start to fight at the drop of a hat, wanting a spot on the NHL roster. Here's some action from monday, enforcer Ivanans smashing some poor kid's face in.

Yeah I can get you some info on the draft, unforunately not right now. I'm just heading out the door, but if nobody responds to you by the time I get the chance, I will post everything you need to know. But a good site to check out is www.hockeyfutures.com search for the Hurricanes and there should be a link to the draft overview. Which should tell you in-depth about every player the Canes drafted.

Yes the first couple of pre-season games have been good. I think the Leafs have a keeper in Ryan Hollweg, several big hits and a fight on Monday. Pissed off Peters of Buffalo so much he got a game misconduct. Oh and Justin Pogge played awesome.

6-1 baby! Three power play goals! 40 shots!

Man, there's nothing better than destroying Toronto.

We got a pretty good start, entertaining game against Tampa Bay.,... Afraid we are going to get our asses handed to us against the red wings.
