Fantastic Four. Again. We watched it in school seeing as it's the last week of the year. I marvelled at Ioan Gruffud's awful Yank accent.

Hard to believe they picked him to play Wilberforce.

It is a solid "ok for what it is". Definatly had good acting, although the script could have been better. The casting of the characters was good except I didn't think that Cage was a good pick.

When I want an action movie, I watch a Schwarzenegger, Stallone or Bronson movie not a Nicolas Cage. All of those movies were alright but weren't worth watching a third or more time.

Just recently watched Helter Skelter. The guy who played Manson did an amazing job (reminded me of Rob Zombie throughout the movie). The violence was done well too, not too gory while still showing it. I wasn't alive back then but I've read about the situation and I just wonder how much of the movie was fictionalized.

It was supposed to be based on the book, that was very much a "true Crime" so I imagine it was pretty realistic. I haven't seen it so idk.

I think the book was a collection of the facts from the POV of the prosecutor so you have the problem of the opposing side telling the stories. Manson followers disputed the book when it came out so it could've been embellished to sell and to make Manson look worse than what he was to sell more books but idk.

Edit: Just watched Premonition. It was surprisingly good for what it was.

I just finished watching "Aeon Flux". I'm not sure how many of you remember or had the opportunity to see the animated series on MTV years ago, but I thought this was a decent sci-fi movie. It was nothing extraordinary but worth at least seeing it if you were ever a fan of the animated series.

Premonition SUCKED.

...also saw Freedom Writers, Bridge to Terabithia, Music and Lyrics, and The Da Vinci Code recently. All were pretty good, surprisingly.

Here's what I have watched lately:

300 : What a movie! Even better than I expected. Totally killer! Best movie I've watched this year (as far as I can remember)

Pirates of the crbn 3 : Oh that was a disappointment, I was honestly expecting more from this one. It was almost just a typical kids Disney movie with lame humour and cheesy effects.

The Fountain : Aronofsky may be an incredible director but I'm tired and fed up with his movies. Too heavy, pessimistic and artsy for me. I want entertainment not misery.

Shrek 3 : Typical shrek movie, similar to the other 2 that came before. It's quite funny and does not disappoint but nothing new really.

There was far too much of an attempt to shoehorn a plot into that movie. A flimsy plot at that. The appeal of the old cartoon was the fact that it was so wierd and completely random. Plus she didn't die at the end, and she always died in the cartoon. Charlize Theron is extremely hot though, I'll give it that.

Hot Fuzz. Good movie. I need to see it again cuz I might have missed some jokes, it's brutally British. Still it is very much overhyped, and not as funny as Shaun of the Dead.

Compared to a lot of other shitty movies I could've been forced to watch with my girlfriend, this was good, despite figuring out how it was ending 45 minutes into the movie.

Premonition's got Sandra Bullock in it, right? :lame:

Freedom Writers was pretty good. Glad they didn't decide to all put a musical on together or the usual lame shite.

Evan Almighty: Not as funny as Bruce Almighty, I only laughed once. At that was when they showed Jon Stewart for 5 seconds. But Morgan Freeman is pretty good as god.

Knocked Up: Funny. Really funny.

Transformers: Entertaining.

Saw Transformers today. Very entertaining indeed, lots of explosions, big guns, bigger robots... Yeah, this one was pretty much what I expected it to be. Me like

300 needed more fighting (no, seriously), and the "political intrigue back home" bit was unnecessary and the queen's speech was cliche. less of that and more fighting would've made it beyond badass. very nice ending credits, btw (seriously).

actually i thought Pirates 3 was pretty good, especially the battle in the end with the black pearl and the flying dutchman. the wedding was pretty stupid, though, and that chick's speech was, again, completely cliche and gay.

i saw Shawshank Redemption the other day, pretty good.
