Watched The Quiet. Pretty good, nice to know that Elisha Cuthbert can actually act.

Not the best ever (IMDB) but definitely very high up there.

I'd probably rate Shawshank higher than The Godfather, I still think all of the movies on the top ten are overrated, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, and Seven Samurai excluded.

I love that movie, and the rest of the Studio Ghibli movies, except Pom Poko, lol. It's about raccoons that use magical powers with the help of their balls.

A quote from IMDb: "I have read a few posts here defending nudity, ok I can buy that, but if creating a sailboat, a bridge, a windshield or bombing run from kamikaze scrotum balloons, isn't odd, then I guess I am just some puritanical prude. "

I agree about its overratedness. I mean, its good, but I had heard so much hype- then I watch it and it doesn't blow me away in any form whatsoever.

300 : What a movie! Even better than I expected. Totally killer! Best movie I've watched this year (as far as I can remember)

Pirates of the crbn 3 : Oh that was a disappointment, I was honestly expecting more from this one. It was almost just a typical kids Disney movie with lame humour and cheesy effects.

300 needed more fighting (no, seriously), and the "political intrigue back home" bit was unnecessary and the queen's speech was cliche. less of that and more fighting would've made it beyond badass. very nice ending credits, btw (seriously).
My problem with 300 was the mutant creatures (ie: the chained axemen and the saw armed guy) laced throughout it. The movie should've taken a strictly historical approach or went all out with the comic mutants. They could've easily taken them out and left it awesome.

Took part in White Zombie Movie Night:

Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!

Well, whatever with Shawshank Redemption...I know a few people who say it is their favorite movie ever. As long as nobody says they don't like it

I saw Raging Bull yesterday. What a movie...best sports-related movie ever made, and maybe one of the best ever, period.

Raging Bull is fucking amazing, and another example of why Robert De Niro is one of the best actors ever. Just look at the scene at the beginning where he's arguing with his wife in the kitchen, I think his friend or whatever is there too. I think I watched that scene 3-4 times before continuing with the film, amazing, fucking amazing.

Yeah, I think it might be my favorite movie ever. Maybe the only true Shakespearean tragedy I've seen in a movie.

Knocked Up - pretty funny, a rom-com without a totally gay, soppy plot. 7.5/10

Harry Potter (the new one) - Wow, a Harry Potter with some action for once! 7/10

Some Kind Of Monster - odd, but I actually have more respect now for Lars than before. Hammett makes Gandhi look macho, whilst Hetfield is clearly not all there.

Still, as people say, Newsted and Mustaine were the most metal (and therefore best) characters.

It's always fun to watch that and decide whose side you're on (Lars). Neither Lars or Hetfield come off great, but Hetfield seems to start off arguments.

Yeah. And was it me, or was the much-vaunted moment when lars yells 'FUCK!' at Hetfield actually pretty crap? It was more of a WHUMP! when he said he was acting like a dick.

Ah, famous people.

Eh. I admire Hetfield for not punching Lars in the FUUUUUUUCK! scene.
