What was the score of game 2 between Canucks and Flames? I couldn't stand watching anymore hockey after the beating the Leafs took.

just keeping the thread alive!

Ryan Hollweg got a 2 game suspension in the pre-season. Missed the first 2 games of the regular season. First game back gets a 5 minute major and a game misconduct for doing the exact same thing he did to get himself suspended in the first place. So the rules say that he will be suspended another 3 games for the hit. But because he is a cronic offender and he plays for the Leafs, the suspension will be for longer than 3.

Rangers 1st overall draft pick from 2006 Alexei Cherepanov (spelling) died yesterday.

Blue Jackets forward, and I believe assistan captain, Mike Peca will be suspended 10 games for physically harming an NHL official. Which is BS, he just tugged on the refs arm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJf86cY_dQY not the best quality, but it shows you why the suspension is BS.

Mats Sundin will be stopping in Toronto to check in on his house, then he will be heading to California to begin training for this season.

Absolutely dumb move by Hollweg that basically cost them the game. I don't know why the Leafs picked him up in the first place.

Exactly. And it pisses me off how all the high up's at MLSE keep defending him.

The suspension will only be for 3 games.

Fucking Blackhawks have sure laid an egg to start this season. Perhaps the money spent on Huet would've been better spent elsewhere, like on a 2nd line center.

That's what Khabibulin is for. But it's only the first few games, but beware of the dreaded sophomore slump. You can trade Toews and Khabibulin to the leafs for Toskala and Antropov. Then you get the second line center you need. HA.

Haha, nice!! Toews is the captain and the face of the franchise, and he's a center, so thankfully he's not going anywhere.

How about Havlat for Antropov? A gingerbread man for a perennial under-achiever. That sounds about right.

Speaking of the Blackhawks.. Did they just fire their head coach four games into the season??

The sweetest thing of the season so far: the Ducks have yet to win.

Yes, thankfully. Savard juggled lines like he was trying out for the circus. I think Quenneville (sp?) will get much more out of them then Savy was able to. The GM's head is the next on the chopping block. They're not fucking around in Chicago anymore.

Wow, Montreal almost blew it last night. The goal with 40 seconds left was ridiculous to say the least. At first I was like "ARGH Price you idiot!" but watching the replays, that really was a crazy bounce and there was nothing he could do about it. Not long after Thomas made a pretty stupid move himself, diving out at the puck to clear it, but Montreal almost made a goal out of it, too bad they never seem to get those opportunities in.

I can live with that, then we can trade Havlat for a second rounder or something. Or package him with one of our way too many defence men and get a first? If only...

I'd be down with it. Of course I would have to quit my day job. But I guess those are the sacrifices one must make to be great.

Todays NHL news:

Talks of an NHL team coming to Toronto. Another team. Bad idea, MLSE would never allow it, even though they said that they would listen to any offers. Send a team to Southern Ontario and let them flourish there, stay out of Toronto. This is Leafs Nation.

I don't know what I'd do if they brought another team here. My main concern would be them winning the Cup before the Leafs. :P
