Only the best horror first-person shooter ever made. So what if it's from 2001 - gameplay>graphics. Not to mention one of the few fps i've played that actually has a story you can care about. Great voice acting, great weapons, great level design, great boss fights, spooky atmosphere. This game is a cult classic. Get it now.

Umm, do get CoD4, it's well worth the twenty quid. Trust us on this. I've been playing it online for nearly a year and a half.

Cool, I still play mine quite often. Make sure you get Resistance: Retribution. Other games I'd recommend:

God of War: Chains of Olympus (really short, so you might want to just rent it)
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (hard to find for a decent price these days)
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror or Logan's Shadow
Sega Genesis Collection
Silent Hill: Origins
Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
Star Ocean 1&2
Jeanne d'Arc
Final Fantasy Tactics
GTA: Vice City Stories or Liberty City Stories

Plenty of good stuff coming out in the future too.

Imo it's not. Most of the time you wander around the maps driving. Weapons wear down too quickly making them jam every so often forcing you to reload (enemies don't have this problem). And let us not forget the annoying checkpoints which respawn the second you leave them after killing everyone there. Even more annoying when 2 minutes later you have to go through the same checkpoint. Side missions are repetitive and boring. Story is weak, AI average, most of the weapons are fun though. If you like exploring large open areas with little to do and the things I mentioned don't bother you then I'm sure you'll like the game.

So it's like a crap version of Crysis crossed with S.T.A.L.K.E.R., basically? Trying to pick out my next FPS, since can't be bothered paying £20 for CoD4. Any other suggestions, anyone?

TimeSplitters 1, 2, or 3! All awesome.

I'd say 2 or 3 is the way to go.

Try Fallout 3 Zad. You will definitely not be bored as it is a huge game and you can do more or less whatever the hell you want throughout the whole game. It's probably more of a RPG than a FPS, but the similarities are definitely there

I know they never got a PC release, but getting them on your PC is not hard at all. Genius.

Yes! Great game. Pity I never got it to work on my current computer.

Yeah, it's a problem many old games share. There is this website Good Old Games that sells these classics cheap and most of all made compatible with Win XP and Vista. I still remember what I had to go through to be able to run Might & Magic 7.

First Perfect Dark and now this? The Fall will definitely be a great time for XBLA fans like me.

So I'm buying a PS3. I hope to have one before mid-July. I am currently bidding on some on eBay, if I do not win then I will take my next pay and get a brand new one in stores.

Yes, I am joining the darkside...

I need a nice snappy witty PSN tag, metalthrash just doesn't cut it anymore.

Ok guys, need a recommendation: For the Wii, should I get Metroid Prime or Zelda: Twilight Princess?

Twilight Princess is my least favorite 3D zelda; it's so ludicrously easy that it makes Wind Waker look like a Majora's Mask 3-day run, the world is the least welcoming and interesting to explore of any zelda world, the story is more ridiculous than usual, and the items are for the most part designed terribly and/or useful in only one place.

basically, get Prime.

Don't listen to him. Though it is an easy game (nowhere near as easy as Wind Waker, though), TP has a great quest with the best dungeon design in any Zelda game, a well done combat system, and some damn fun items. Whether you get Prime first or whatever (Prime 3 is a great game), you should still check out TP at some point.

And for all Wii owners looking for a good FP shooter: Next week The Conduit comes out! Boo ya!

I enjoyed Twilight Princess aboust as much as I enjoyed Ocarina of Time.

I'd be inclined to say Prime, though. I dunno. Get both.
