This is classic. Fuck off for real.

If there is a more vapid, rubberheaded (not to mention narcisisstic) group of people than Hollywood celebrities walking around, I don't want to know about it.

My god. That was just incredible. And while I don't think it is fair to condemn them all in absolutes, to participate in this is at least the height of naivety, if not hypocrisy. Seriously, stop and think about the stuff you've made and how guns were used before doing a message like that. Hollywood seems to possess a very insular notion of its own goodness and self-righteousness (thinking of George Clooney's pompous speech at the Oscars years back when he claimed their industry was ahead of society when it came to minority treatment: a speech South Park somewhat famously lampooned). So I see some element of groupthink among those people: a lot of the actors that participated in this message just probably did so because it was the "group thing" to do, and never once thought of how many times they cavalierly shot a guy because the director told them to do it.

Not saying anything one way or the other, but some food for thought:

http://www.canada.com/news/Magnotta+cas ... story.html

Also there apparently were a slew of copycat murders based on Natural Born Killers, most notably Columbine:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_al ... l_massacre

Hollywood, useful idiots that they are, want a quick feel good placebo, while giving themselves the obligatory self congratulating pat on the back; so much easier than looking down that hard cold mirror.

I'm not one to say that movies and video games are to blame, though I will say that our (American) culture has becomed poisoned; fame, violence sex and greed are the cornerstones of our value system; take that, lace it with a (un)healthy dose of depression, feelings of hopelessness and of being "nobody" and throw in a dash of muttering men in white coats prescribing a half understood witches brew of mind-bending drugs upon an unsuspecting populace... and, yes easy access to guns is a factor, as well, and there you have it.

Caveat: firearms have been easily accessible here, well, forever, but only recently has there been an explosion of mass shootings; what's changed?

In fact, the last time they introduced an assault weapons ban (1994 - 2004), there was an increase in gun related homicide.
And, it should also be noted that the areas with the strictest gun laws have the most gun related crime.
Go figure.

We need to look at the cause of this sickness; the results are merely symptomatic. It's like going to the doctor with a bad chest infection, and being given nothing more than a cough supressant.

Of course, I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

I'm not going to hold his girth against him, but he's definitely a slob. He doesn't seem to have any self-respect at all, and is a fucking idiot and another hypocrite to boot.

Anti gun, except for his armed bodyguard; capitalism is evil, except when it makes him a millionare.

Funny, after the CT shooting, you would think this would have made national news (as opposed to a local news only story).

http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local_ ... 123414.php

Quote:
A recent breakup set off a shooting spree that ended with a man wounded at a South Side movie theater before the suspect was shot by an off-duty deputy, authorities said Monday.

Quote:
Garcia went inside, chased people out the back door, and followed one employee as he ran toward the theater, apparently because he was the easiest target, Pollard said.

“He was chasing him, shooting in the air and at other cars,” Pollard said.

He said that when a San Antonio police officer heard the gunshots and pulled into the theater's parking lot, Garcia shot out his patrol car's windshield.

Garcia then pursued the employee into the theater, firing more shots when he reached the lobby, Pollard said.

One of the shots struck a patron in the back, but the bullet did not strike any vital organs and the man was released from San Antonio Military Medical Center later Sunday night.

Bexar County sheriff's Sgt. Lisa Castellano, who was working off-duty as a security guard at the Mayan Palace, chased the gunman toward the back of the theater. The 13-year department veteran cornered him after he ran into a men's restroom, shooting him several times and taking his gun, Pollard said

Note the bolded part; since the outcome runs contrary to the narrative (more gun control), it gets buried.
Anybody that claims our media is not agenda driven, just isn't paying attention.

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Hollywood/ ... scal-cliff

Quote:
Section 317 of the freshly approved legislation includes an extension for "special expensing rules for certain film and television productions." Congress first enacted production tax incentives favorable to the domestic entertainment industry in 2004, and extended them in 2008, but the deal was meant to expire in 2011.

The fiscal cliff deal extends the tax incentives through 2013--even as payroll taxes rise on ordinary Americans.

Didja read this part:

Prognosis:
0% chance of getting past committee.
0% chance of being enacted or passed.

Or click on the "related" tab which shows it was a re-introduction of an earlier bill which itself was a re-introduction, etc. etc. Seems this happens every couple of years, probably the minimum time allowed between re-introductions.

The irony is that it wouldn't really matter much, our government uses this country as their personal ATM, legislating more ways to divvy up the country's assets between themselves and their swinish corporate friends.

Meanwhile, my paycheck will be smaller starting next week, due to a tax increase and the cost of healthcare going up.
The day our crooked rotten to the core system completely implodes can't come fast enough, as far as I am concerned.

No doubt .. it didn't even get past committee and had no co-sponsors. Basically some individual introducing a crackpot resolution. Seems any crackpot can introduce any crackpot resolution they want .. but that doesn't mean it will go anywhere.
