Poopeth still sounds like a scatological Opeth tribute band to me.

Korn got accepted into the Archives. Of course everyone thought it was a joke, but then some interesting stuff happened.

1. They had a very well-made page with their full discography (including singles/demos/EPs and stuff like that), lyrics to every song, line-up information and a lot of trivia. Whoever made the page spent a lot of time on it.

2. Apparantly, every moderator, without exception, was in on the joke. Some of them were for it, others were against it. Drama ensued on the forums as people started to believe that it wasn't a joke.

3. One of the "main" moderators announced his resignation. This was probably the point where many people started to believe that it was for real, because I've been a lurker over there for years, and that guy is probably the most cynical and overtly serious person on the internet. No one thought he would take part in something like that.

Eventually everything turned out to be a big frigging hoax (the hilarious announcement is probably still up on the main page  ), but still, it's probably the most elaborate April Fools joke I've ever seen, and many regulars made themselves look really stupid in the process. [/i]

Two things:

1. Slayer - Christ Illusion is a really, really fantastic album, in retrospect. A real grower. Looking forwards to their new one.

2. Before all the hype kicks off properly, let me get this out: Steel Panther are fucking terrible. I will kick up if they get a positive review on this site. They're The Darkness of 2009.

The Darkness are pretty horrible. I remember them being popular for a few month, and then they just fell off the face of the earth. No surprise, really, they're just another boring retro novelty band with nothing going for them besides the fact that they are retro.

I bought a Darkness cd, and whenever anybody sees it in my collection they always say "You like the Darkness?" I respond with a sly "No. I like Darkness."

Death Squad :dio:

I just heard that Steel Panther band. How many songs from the 80's did they rip off?!
