I sided with V at first and I soooo want to distance myself from everything that he said afterwards. Making this personal is incredibly unnecessary.

It's just that to some extent we are in fact a community here, and gratuitous insults are extremely unnecessary. I know it's the internet and all that, but still, it's a person on the other end, a person who can feel offended at something you might say. Being a dick isn't cool. At least make it obvious you're joking (although jokes can hurt too sometimes).

Most forums have rules against personal attacks. On another forum I moderate on I would have definitely given you and V an informal warning via pm. There's just no reason to not be nice and it can upset some people.
