Entrepreneurship
Thematic block: Preparing for the CFA

will try to switch Entrepreneurship for something else tomorrow, though.

classes start at 2pm, and on mondays and wednesdays they end at 9:30PM!!! this wouldn't bother me so much if i didn't have massive 1 and a half hour breaks between certain subjects. fucking gay. no classes on tuesdays and thursdays though!

Any of you ever take a course that's so hard that your prof basically has to curve grades on a ridiculous level? I took Intro To Mathematical Topology a while back, and the midterm was so hard that even a 50% got you an A on it.

there are no grading curves here.

we did have subjects with ridiculous passing rates, though. Statistics I in my year had 18% passes in the first try and 50 soemthing in the second. the following semester only TWO PEOPLE in over 200 passed in the first try, and less than 50% passed in the second. holy shit.

If you can believe it, there are some professors that actually curve grades DOWN. Like this one Physics professor at, I think, UC Berkeley. He wanted the class average to be no higher than a 2.0. So, if it was any higher, he'd curve grades down.

All my units have an assignment and an exam. In order theyre listed up there i got 70%, 60%, 37.5% :(

Meaning to get a decent grade i need 70%, 75% and 100% LOL

Fuck I'm shit at uni. Here is my advice to all high school students:

Just because you are getting/got straight A's in high school, it doesn't. mean. shit. =[

So I just signed up for my classes which will be starting next January and it is at bad times but hopefully awesome classes. I've decided I might try to minor in Sociology but I'm not really too concerned about it.

Introduction to Critical Theory
Introduction to Philosophy: Belief and Knowledge
Introduction to Philosophy: Mind and Will
Contemporary Social Issues
Survey of Sociological Theory

I'm so excited about the Crit. Theory course. It is basically applying theories like structuralism, marxism, queer theory and feminism to The Great Gatsby.

alright so next semester i have:
logic and critical thinking
symbollic logic 2
the good life
special topics in literature: post-colonial perspectives
creative writing: fiction 2

stoked! never done 5 classes before though so i might drop the intro logic course or the good life. pretty happy since i've decide on more definite goals for education stuff: major in Philosophy, major or minor in English, then hopefully go to law school and make rich.

What is "the good life"?

Five classes shouldn't be a big deal if the classes aren't too intensive. Double majors suck but the minor should be tolerable. I wanted to minor/major in English but I couldn't tolerate the amount of Shakespeare and Victorian writers in the courses I were required to take.
