Last thing i learnt to play was either the solo from silent night bodom night (on eletric) or jonny be goode

On the acoustic , under a violet moon- blackmoores night

but i try not to learn other people songs, only results in you losing originality in you own music

Well me and some friends decided to do a metal cover album just for fun and improvement. So we're all working on these songs:

Trivium – The End Of Everything/Rain
Lamb Of God - Laid to Rest
Children Of Bodom - Are You Dead Yet
Arch Enemy - Nemesis
Opeth - Grand Conjuration
Mastodon - Iron Tusk
Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face
Kamelot - March of Mephisto
Noumena - Day to Depart

Sentenced - Noose has been there quite often lately, also a couple of Amorphis songs and a few from Ensiferum.
Success rate is very variable since I've only played my guitar for about 1,5 years.

Only the song in red was a good choice. The rest are either dubious to be considered 'metal', a downright crappy band or just a poor choice of song.

Fixed it.

Rush -- Tom Sawyer

The bass, of course. It's pretty cool. 8)

The only part that needs some serious work is the keyboard part with all the "dee-doo-dee-doo-dee-dooooo... deeee-doo-dee-doo-dee-doo"....

... ... ...

...Y'know, that part. :D

if you want a good rush song to learn, try the temples of syrinx. its little more laid back in complexity than some of the other songs but its fun to play

I'm learning Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd on acoustic. I'm also working on a cover of B.B. King's Three O' Clock Blues on electric; while continuing to develop my own blues. Also I've been experimenting with 1349's Sculptor of Flesh and Stevie Ray Vaughan's Texas Flood. Although I do have a love for metal, especially DM, I'm not very good at playing it; I just haven't found it in my fingers.
