Those of you against, I wonder if you ever tried, cuz like when you don't try, you can't say it's bad. Jus like tis time that thought burger kings was bad, but then I actully go there and the make some damn good burgers!!!

My totally un-metal self agrees with NESS on this one, though in instances of rape or incest I would allow it.

And whoever said that a baby is a parasite until 6 months, I will say this. My wife and I just went in for an ultrasound, she is 17 weeks pregnant, and my daughter was kicking and moving her arms. Not to mention she looked exactly like the miniature version of a newborn. Just food for thought

In the case of rape, incest, malformations, genetic disorders, bogans, etc = yes.
As a form of contraception = no, you dirty fucking whore/irresponsible dickwad.

My views are based on two things: eugenics and personal responsibility.

The irresponsibility part, I think the abortion is a better punishment than a child. I heard it's not really pleasant to have your kiddo aborted, and this way is best for every party. I argument that a child is killed seems irrelevant to me, for a child becomes aware of its existance after a year and a half. Before that, it cannot recognize itself in the mirror, just like the animals we eat (given that we don't eat gorrilas, urang-utangs, orcas and dolphins). 10 Days is very early too btw, what do the naysayers think about the morning after pill?

yes but my question is, imagine that a couple was irresponsible and didn't use proper contraceptive methods? what now, should they just have a kid because they forgot?

like i said i think people know that abortion is a last resort and if they do it once i doubt they'd do it again (so, you know, from that day they'd never forget the contraceptives).

Little kids may be like animals in that regard, but unlike animals, you know they will eventually get that concept of self and feelings and all that good shit. By this same definition, should we kill people in comas without giving them the time they need to come back to conciousness as well? They wouldn't have a concept of self during the coma either.

There is no point in arguing it. I can respect both sides. However, I can't respect those trying to make abortion illegal. It should remain a choice. Always.

'Twould be me, though when I say that, it's partially smart-assery. A fetus diverts nutrients from the host (mother), severely impedes/restricts physical ability, and provides no advantage in return. I picked 6 months because that's the point at which it's able to survive outside the mother's body (yes, plenty of premies survive before that, but not without major medical intervention - even I needed to be put under UV lights and I was only 6 weeks premature).

In all seriousness, congrats to you and your wife.

Good point. People in coma usually have family or friends that care about them and don't want them dead. If you go for potential intelligence, you shouldn't allow people to wear condoms either.

But they had a concept of self at one point, so abortion can't really be compared to euthanasia.

i believe that the morning-after pill naysayers primarily disagree with it being called the morning after pill. There concept is that giving it a name like that makes it sound as casual as one of those pills you take after a night of chugging cheap wine and you wake up with the hang over from hell.


They should just make those into one pill.


what they propose is calling it "the abortion pill" which the other side tends to say makes it sound more serious than it is, putting a glob of 6 cells on the same level as a fetus. Also callign it an abortion pill is scientificly inaccurate, but when has somethign like science been known to trouble the religious right.

The other point is that correctly using contraceptives prevents the spread of diseases, namely HIV, which is one of the worlds biggest killers, right?

So wear a rubber, you wont get sick, and you wont have kids!

However, if you are drunk/high, a whore, a complete moron, you have been raped or your concraceptive has failed, the mother has the right to choose.

I've never worn a condom @_@

What do you use then? Or do you blow on girls' face/tits/butt/back/stomach?
