A poor prefermance by brazils standards, i thought croatia were going to equalize a in the second half. I expect we'll see much much better from them but they look beatable judging by that game.

France sucked total ass against Switzerland :? I mean, I haven't seen a more uninspired team in a long time. Can't see them go far if they continue like that...

True, but Croatia has a great defense. I'm sure they can give any team a tough game.

Spain played very very decent, maybe they'll have a chance on the title for once. but the referee was really harsh with the penalty, it was a penalty but a red card? yellow i could understand, they have to give a yellow card if someone pulls an other player's shorts but red? :?

Strictly speaking it was a penalty, but the same thing (shirt pulling) happens at every corner or free kick, so I don't see why penalties aren't given then as well.

The only thing I can think of is that you can't give a penalty if it doesn't happen in open play?

It had to be a red card because he was the last man. And when you look at it the shirt pull was outside the box, shouldn't have been a pen in my eyes.

Saudi Arabia and Tunsinia was a very entertaining game. Not the best teams but they played hard and never gave up.

saw the highlights of the Tunisia x Saudi Arabia game, it seemed pretty good.

the first Tunisia goal was awesome, and the second one was a big mistake by the Saudi keeper.

This is kinda worrying. It's good Monkeyboy's playing, but Sven seems determined to piss Sir Alex off.

Eriksson is in the enviable position of being able to do whatever the heck he wants as England manager without any personal consequences.

Eesh... most stressfull game I've watched in a long time.

Cheers for Peter Crouch. And jeers for all those people talking about how heroic T&T were when all they were doing was getting 11 men behind the ball like big defensive losers.

Hmm, well done Sweden, although I'd have been much happier to have seen a 0-0 draw.

The Guardian's minute-by-minute commentary of England v T&T is among the worst pieces of sports journalism I've ever read in my life, but then all was explained when I noticed the writer of it had a Scottish sounding name. It was all like "Lolz England are being outplayed by T&T here." Makes you wonder how some of these people get jobs at respectable newspapers :?

Sad sad game England played. Peter Crouch couldn't head in a single ball (except the one he made). Lampard missed all his shots as well. Rooney was outplayed by the defense of Trinidad & Tobago. I don't see England going very far in this world cup, the way they've been playing. As for Sweden, I forsee Trinidad and Tobago beating Paraguay and leaving Sweden out in the first round. Hey, and how about them Ecuadorians?

Not as incredible as the fourth spanish goal.

It's obvious that the spanish team is tring to play AS Barça. 4-3-3, with the same heart (Pujol) and the same brain (Xavi, with Iniesta as his replace, exactly as Barça).
Yeah, it perhaps it's not enough to win, but at least we have a team that's very entertaining to see playing, for first time in a lot of years. I just hope that Raul doesn't play a lot.
