General appeal - Grand Theft Auto 4 on the PC. It's randomly crashing to the desktop, sometimes only a few minutes into playing, and nothing I do seems to help, from compatilibility modes to messing with settings. Apparently a lot of people are having trouble, anyone got any tips? The best so far has been dropping everything down to 800 by 6whatsit, where it looked horrible but ran fine for at least 20 minutes.

Finished Borderlands last night. The ending was indeed a bit of a letdown.

Bought Lost Planet: Colonies and Dead Space (again) this weekend in the bargain games section.

Dead Space is amazing, but that's a given since I've owned / beaten it before... I let my coke head of a "Friend" borrow it and I haven't seen him since. And the satisfaction of having the game in a stupid "Platinum Hits" case isn't nearly as great as owning the game in its original box when I bought it when it very first came out, but oh well. It's still a fantastic and hella scary game.

Lost Planet... eh. There's probably a reason it was only fifteen dollars. The graphics and some of the action are great, but most of the gameplay is sub-par, especially when fighting human NPC's... it's a shooting gallery. But the giant monsters are really cool. Maybe it'll pick up, I just started on mission 4.

Finished Folklore, ok game i guess, it was a bit too repetitive, there are literally no incentives in catching all of the folks and most of them are so similar that there is no real reason to change them that much, story seemed to be very intiguing at first but i think it felt short in the end, battle system was really fun though.

Now playing Demon's Souls and so far this game is pure awesomeness.

I really want Demon's Souls but I'm not wanting to shell out £50+ to the hawking bastards who import it :(. The Euro region gets shafted too often!

Got my ass kicked on Demon's Souls last night, after killing the first boss i was like fuck yeah! i own this game!, but then i move onto a bridge and a frikin dragon comes flying and burned me to death, i soon figured out what to do and just as i was getting at the end of the bridge a blue eyed knight and two black phantoms kicked my sorry ass, tried it again a couple of times with no luck, but this is one thing i like about this game, even when you keep dying it doesnt feel cheap it just makes you want to try again.

Crawling through Fallout 3. I really don't have the time to play video games. Got Assassin's Creed to work through as well.

Continuing with Dragon Age after a long break. I've almost played 50 hours and I haven't even finished 50% of the game yet. I love it.

I can't believe Bioshock 2 is getting good reviews. The first one wasn't that great, and the second one is basically the same shit. Bleh.

???

Are you sick? The first one was amazing, the second is equally as good with some pretty good multiplayer.

I'm just about done it. Great story. And if you weren't aware, Bioware is releasing an expansion pack this coming March. Games don't end anymore :)

I don't know, I just didn't enjoy any of them as much as I thought I would. I bought the first one for 360 on release day and was really disappointed. It's very shiny and pretty on the surface but it didn't really pull me in. The weapons and special powers feel like you're playing with toys. Some games just have that little extra that makes it fun killing enemies, the Call of Duty games are a good example of that. I didn't experience that with Bioshock at all. Which makes it even worse on higher difficulties because the higher you go the more hit points your enemies get, and that's it. As dull as it is hacking away at the repetitive dummies that the enemies are, it's ten times worse on Hard. Plus, the fact that you can respawn as many times as you wish without losing any progress makes it all pointless. There's no reward without risk. It's just a waste of time. The silliest part of it all I think is the "choices" you get to make. Kill the kids or don't, no matter what you do, you still get the same reward. If you choose to save the kid and not take the adam or whatever it's called, you just walk around the corner and oh shit! there's a gift with the same shit you would've gotten if you'd killed the kid. How fucking stupid is that? Oh and the story is waaaay overrated.

I guess it's a decent game, I mean the atmosphere can be pretty creepy at times and exploration isn't too bad, I just don't consider it a 9/10, or even an 8/10. Maybe 6-7ish.

I think i'm going to start Dragon Quest VIII tonight. I've never played any of the dragon quest games before, and I've had this one a while and haven't tried it out yet.
