I can't believe Bioshock 2 is getting good reviews. The first one wasn't that great, and the second one is basically the same shit. Bleh.

???

Are you sick? The first one was amazing, the second is equally as good with some pretty good multiplayer.

I don't know, I just didn't enjoy any of them as much as I thought I would. I bought the first one for 360 on release day and was really disappointed. It's very shiny and pretty on the surface but it didn't really pull me in. The weapons and special powers feel like you're playing with toys. Some games just have that little extra that makes it fun killing enemies, the Call of Duty games are a good example of that. I didn't experience that with Bioshock at all. Which makes it even worse on higher difficulties because the higher you go the more hit points your enemies get, and that's it. As dull as it is hacking away at the repetitive dummies that the enemies are, it's ten times worse on Hard. Plus, the fact that you can respawn as many times as you wish without losing any progress makes it all pointless. There's no reward without risk. It's just a waste of time. The silliest part of it all I think is the "choices" you get to make. Kill the kids or don't, no matter what you do, you still get the same reward. If you choose to save the kid and not take the adam or whatever it's called, you just walk around the corner and oh shit! there's a gift with the same shit you would've gotten if you'd killed the kid. How fucking stupid is that? Oh and the story is waaaay overrated.

I guess it's a decent game, I mean the atmosphere can be pretty creepy at times and exploration isn't too bad, I just don't consider it a 9/10, or even an 8/10. Maybe 6-7ish.

I agree with the death part and the decisions part, but everything else I disagree with. I think they are both great games. The first was one of my favourites of 2007 and the new is one of my favourites and GOTY contender for 2010. I like the story, the weapons are pretty plain jane, but they work. I like the plasmids and the way you can set traps. You actually have to set shit up before you start fighting. Sure the FPS mechanics in BioSHock are not as good as CoD, but they still work.

to each his own I guess. But you are the first person I've seen say it's overrated.

I'm not sure. I never have looked. But I'm so good that I can play on hard without dying.

I think i'm going to start Dragon Quest VIII tonight. I've never played any of the dragon quest games before, and I've had this one a while and haven't tried it out yet.

Dragon Quest is awesome:

I havent played VIII, but IV, V, VI and VII were amazing and i hear that IX its pretty sweet to, i really hope they realease a new one for PS3/360, they're pretty long games though and requiere lots of grinding if you plan on getting your charachters to the max levels and master all classes.

Pokemon: Ruby Version, for about the fourth time. Such a good series, but Gold / Silver will always be the best era for me.

I'm so buying either Heart Gold or Soul Silver. Most likely Soul Silver, since I already own the original Gold Version.

Gold Version was the best thing to happen to my childhood.

Absolutely. I still remember waking up early one cold morning in 5th grade to play that game, and shitting 10 bricks when I found out I could go back to the Kanto region from Red/Blue.

And I hope HG/SS turn out to be good. I heard some of the music on YouTube, and although it's still the same great music, the sound quality... well, it left a lot to be desired.

I remember the first time I found out I could return to Kanto too... It must've been about 11 at night because I was so addcted, and I was freaking ecstatic that I was really only halfway done with an already long game!

God, I remember spending HOURS every day taking my hard-earned Suicune through the Elite Four by itself over and over again, just to get it up to level 100. I can honestly say I was emotionally attached to that damn Pokemon.

And this should make you happy:

:omfg:

That makes me unspeakably happy.

I'm probably gonna get SS this time too, also having owned Gold... too bad the Gold cartridge's battery ran out; the game won't save. Good thing for emulators, then.

Christ, I don't think I've played Gold since '03. I gave my copy to my younger cousin as a birthday present... he had JUST gotten Gold, but somebody stole it out of his backpack or something, and I didn't want him deprived of a wonderful experience in Johto / Kanto. Besides, I had just gotten Ruby at the time and I was hooked on that.

Have you played Diamond / Pearl? I've been putting off getting either for over two years now for some reason. The general population claims they're good games though.

Eeeeh. Diamond has thoroughly failed to captivate me. I might try again one day, but most of the designs are piss poor, far too many water-types, hardly any fire-types, and just generally unbalanced. It didn't leave a good impression.

Fuck, I used to love the pokemon games as well.

Screw this, I'm buying a new gameboy and the new games.

I've already pre-orderded Heart Gold already!
I got a Ho-Oh figurine too, it's awesome!
I'm SOOOO excited for it!
Mostly for the new graphics and that you can choose a pokemon to walk behind you, absolutely adooorableeee.

I busted out Pokemon Stadium and put my old school gold cartridge in it, my team from when I was 10 is so adorable, probably the same pokemon i'd still choose. hahaha

Also, super enjoying Dragonquest VII, it's really cute so far!

Yeah other than the starter, the only other fire-type you can find is Ponyta. It blows. That's when a game shark comes in handy.

What did you think made Darksiders unplayable? Personally i really enjoyed it...it was like a sinister version of Zelda.

The combat, in recent light of Bayonetta's epic catalogue of moves, combos and lightning fast and tight action just felt so flat. Bayonetta gives you an almost complete combo list at the very beginning, so imagine coming from that complex and hectic structure (and the boss battles OMG) to pressing X three times in a row over and over and over again...

I should have played Darksiders first since most people seem to be happy with it. I'm seriously afraid that Bayonetta has raised the bar so much for me that it will lessen the coming God of War 3 experience. I'd hate to hype the game too much though, just saying that at one point, a few levels in, the game switches gears and really starts to take off.

Been playing some Team Fortress 2 which is always great, Dawn of War 2 Co-op and Left 4 fucking Dead 2 :dio: I kid you not, the first time I played L4D2 (the first campaign) with a mate was one of the best gaming experiences I've had. Tight, intense, gory as hell and just loads of fun. Braaaaaaaaaaiiiinnsss...

Heart Gold and Soul Silver aren't really new, they've just re-made Gold and Silver. They've added new cool features and stuff.

oh well, I sure did play a lot of Gold back in the day. Although I was all about the Blue as that was my first. Maybe I'll check out the new ones, but I just feel weird buying DS games.

21 years old, 6 foot 4, 300 lbs, full facial hair, Destruction t-shirt... It's just weird.
