Man, I thought 3:10 was pretty bad. Way to many Hollywood moments.

If you're talking about the dynamite scene in the mine, I agree with you but the movie was badass nonetheless.

Yeah, see, that's the thing about real life. There's no meaning, it doesn't all add up to one big happy whole. Things happen, children get left out in the desert, immigrants get refused visas, the world keeps turning.

And how were Babel's small connections less logical than Crash's it-all-adds-up crap? How does that work?

I didn't say it was less logical, I said it was worse. The small connections were totally irrelevant and didn't add to the story at all...it felt like they just wrote four shitty stories and decided to put them together to make one shitty movie. They're movies, and should be treated as such...Crash's story was much more interesting and entertaining, even if it wasn't entirely believable how all the characters met each other. To take something from a book "The Things They Carried", the truth of a story lies more in the feeling it conveys than factual accuracies.

"Cidade de Deus". awesome. now i can safely say that fans of this movie will like Tropa de Elite and vice-versa. two great movies, similar subjects, different points of view.

Out of the Past

1947 Noir. Pretty cool dialog going on. Robert Mitchum's apparently pretty badass and Rose McGowen looks a lot like Jane Greer. Also, everyone, seriously everybody, was smoking all the time in this movie. It was hilarious.

That film's awesome.

After the shitfest that was Beowulf I watched 'Beowulf and Grendel' a live action version from 2005 which is pretty damned good. Plus it's that dude from 300 in the lead role. Pretty sweet.

Stephen King's IT. Why the fuck does it end before the adults get to confront it? Stan the fucking Jew dies and then it ends? Is there part 2?

Yeah there are two parts. They confront It at the end of part 2.

Just watched Heavy Metal, that ridiculous cartoon with the boobs and gore. It was on TV and South Park mocked it so I said wtf and watched it. That movie was fucking goofy.

I saw Rambo t'other night on a pirated (yarr) DVD. Better and worse than I expected. It wasn't as hilariously stupid as I expected, and apart from the absolutely ridiculous, awesome, levels of gore was almost a respectable action film. But it just seemed to end so suddenly and lack any cohesion between scenes. Still I enjoyed it. 80s action is back. :dio:

I remember being dragged to see the Illusionist with another guy by some of our chick friends and seeing the Prestige trailer before it, and wondering why we had to see the bad version of that movie.

The Illusionist was such a beautiful movie with a great soundtrack, but the plot was sooo dumb.

Hhmm I've seen the movie and I quite liked it but I neglected paying attention to the soundtrack which is rather strange since I usually do that. So what kind of style is the soundtrack ? Any resemblances to any other well known movie soundtracks? I don't think I've heard anything from Philip Glass so I'm curious and interested.

Last night I finally saw Cloverfield. It turned out better than I thought, definitely not a Godzilla rip-off. I didn't care for the first 20 minutes, but after the shit started happening it went pretty well. I admit the shaky camera was annoying at first but as the movie progressed I got used to it. I didn't find it scary and some moment were confusing (like no explanation as what is going on) but it was worth it imo. 7/10

It was a double sided disc blaaaah. Sweet film. Nothing on the book.

I've purposely waited for the DVD release of Rambo because it's a big event for me.
