No Country For Old Men - 8/10 The second half of this movie really does kinda ruin it. I kept hearing that from everyone and so I was all like "It cant be that bad, I bet its fine, people are dumb, Im not" but seriously, what the hell happened? The first half of this movie is nearly perfect.
i didn't like the ending at first but it wraps up the sheriff's part of the story - him not being able to face pure evil (chigurgh), so he quits his job. it makes a lot more sense if you've read the book.
Books almost are always better and if not better, at least more clear. The problem I had with the second half didn't really come from not understanding it or anything though. The first half of the movie was just so interesting and exciting, it really started with a bang and kept it goin for abit, but it really just fizzled out in the end and became average I think. I may give the book a chance though, the characters were great and I wanted to like it more.
Anyhoo:
Curse of The Golden Flower - 5/10 Very disappointed by this. This was made by the guy who did Hero, House of Flying Daggers, and Happy Times so maybe it was my fault that I expected something not.. gay. Well up next I will be checking out Riding Alone For Thousands of Miles by this guy, it seems interesting.
Idiocracy - 8/10 Awesome set up, extremely funny. It feels like its missing something though, I think this movie would have benefited from being longer.
The Darjeeling Limited - 8.5/10 Dragged abit in places but overall I really enjoyed it. I think I was in the right mindset for this fortunately because I could tell that any other time I might have found this movie horrendously boring, like The Royal Tenenbaums.
