You have a point, but he's good in creating controversy. Even though I kept saying to myself "Oh, this is bullshit" he still managed to keep me coming back and finishing the book. (Da Vinci)
Good at copying controversy, you mean.

By the way, Dark Rivers Of The Heart is a great book.
Yeah, it really was. I'd have liked it more if Spencer and Valerie's meeting and budding relationship had had more time (pages) to grow so they didn't seem as rushed. But, it was an enjoyable experience. What would you recommend I read next by DK?
Out of his newer books, Odd Thomas and Forever Odd. Odd Thomas is excellent and Forever Odd is a sequel of sorts, I've not read it yet, but two people I know have and they both liked it a lot, but agreed that Odd Thomas was better.
Also, some other recent books would be Fear Nothing and Seize The Night, the only other books to include the same main character. Great character, too, great books.
His old books are generally all good, but some of my favorites are Lightning, The Servants Of Twilight, Phantoms, Hideaway and The Bad Place. I generally like all of his books, but recently The Taking, Life Expectancy and By The Light Of The Moon have sort of disappointed me.
Jesus! I just checked and he has yet another new one coming out in May!! Forever Odd came out in November! I don't get it at all. Why is he doing this? Did he get divorced? Hahaha.
