Ugh.. Sucks to have my favorite player on a team I don't care for. I'm conflicted.

If Sundin is your favourite, is Alfredsson your least favourite?

The rivalry doesn't affect me really, I'm not a big enough fan of Toronto. I like Alfie but I love Sundin. He's been the heart of Swedish hockey for years, I'm glad he didn't retire. I'm still not comfortable enough to cheer for Vancouver though, sorry Mats :P

Yeah well the hatred for Alffy is mostly becuase of the elbow he threw on Tucker in the playoffs a few years back.

I loved it when at the beginning of the season when Ottawa was playing Pittsburgh in Sweden and Sundin dropped the puck. The crowd went nuts, then they showed Alffy's face. He seemed so pissed that he didn't get anywhere near the reception Sundin got. For me it was a perfect way to start the season.

Canada downs the Swedes 4-2 during the first exhibtion game of the World Junior Hockey Tournament.

Victor Hedmen got rocked. Cody Hodgson (Vancouver draft pick) had a great game netting a goal, and John Tavares scored aswell. Canadas top line has like 113 combined goals for their respective teams in less than 40 games, and this is one of the weaker Canadian line-ups in the last couple of years. :D I know Sweden played their back-up goalie, but still Canada looks dominant again.

The World Junior Hockey Tournament makes christmas so much better.

I missed the game but as always, Canadian depth is incredible - especially at junior. It's gonna be nice to see Sweden with another good team this year, generally our junior teams are really weak but we've got a pretty nice selection of juniors this time. But winning against Canada at home on NA sized rinks will be challenging to say the least.

Oh well, if Canada wins I can sleep well knowing Hickey and Teubert both are Kings property ;)

It was a good game that's for sure. The Swedes really tried to keep up with the Canadians in the physical department, which was surprising but made for enjoyable hockey. We will probably meet in the finals, which should be good.

Who would of thought that the Leafs would beat Pittsburgh and score 7 goals at the same time. Wow. Toskala played alright, good enough seeing as how for several minutes at a time throughout the game he didn't face any shots. And of course Jeremy Williams scored again, almost had his first career 2 goal game but a post and a blocked shot thwarted those plans.

Anyway, we need to stop winning. We should not be a .500 hockey team. We should be like 5 games below, over-achieving is fun but as soon as the holiday roster freeze is over watch Burkie blow this team up.

Oh, and seeing Ottawa cheer with their win over Dallas was funny. They were cheering like they won the stanley cup. I guess when you were in the finals 2 years ago and are now one of the worst teams in the league, you need something to be happy about about.

Toronto called up Justin Pogge from the AHL. He is expected (hopefully) to get the start against Atlanta on Monday. Would be his first ever NHL game, and I can not wait. If he does good then I am sure Toskala will be on the block after the holiday freeze.

If you are wondering why Pogge has been called up, Toskala re-injured his groin on Saturday in the 7-3 win over Pittsburgh. He made a huge stacked pad save, easily his best save of the season.

They didn't lose 8-2 did they? 'Cause that's how bad the Leafs fell tonight against the Stars. I wanted Pogge to play back-to-back games, but after seeing the Leafs play tonight I am glad he wasn't even dressed. What a piss poor game.

Ha, maybe I should look up the scores before I ask questions. Well you get Sundin in a few days, after he starts to gell with the players things should be good for you guys and you wont be shut out too often.

Fucking shit, that Backstrom is one sick motherfucker... I had a bad feeling that Minnesota would get a comeback against us. Leighton did a couple of big saves, and had three assists.. Haven't heard anything of Ward being injured, so I didn't understand that one by Maurice.

Our first line was piss poor compared to the 3-4 earlier games, but our fourth line is doing very well at the moment... Sutter has got more physical and they're always giving our opponents a hard time. 5-3 we had like 10 shots or something, and Backstrom did 10 insane saves.

Reached the playoffs last season.. I think Minnesota knocked them out.. Or maybe it was Dallas... Don't remember.. Haven't been following them closely this year.

They aren't doing too well this year. They're fighting to reach the playoffs but have some key injuries and below average goaltending. I'd say they'll probably miss the playoffs this year unless they get Forsberg back, but it's a close race at the moment.

Forsberg says he only wants to play in the playoffs, but he has to sign bu the trade deadline I believe. Anyway, Colarado is not doing so well, a .500 hockey team. Plus Sakic's career is all but done he gets back from injury then re-injurs himself shortly after. Paul Stastny needs to step up, and even though he is good, he is not the answer the team needs. They need another top line talent and a number 1 goalie.

And the Leafs lose to the New York Islanders. This is good and bad at the same time. If we won then we have a 13 point lead on them in the standings, which is not good. So now our lead is only 9 points. But the negative fact is that we lost to a team that hasn't won in 10 games. We gave them their first win in December, kinda sad really.

The WJHC got underway today, and the Canadians destroyed the Czechs, 8-1. John Tavares is incredible he had a 3 point game. Plus I am happy to see Leafs draft pick Chris Didomenico on Canada's second line with Tavares. Should be good experience for him. And what's the deal with the fans in Ottawa booing Pat Quinn? Just because he use to coach the Leafs doesn't mean you boo the man who is coaching the nations junior team. I'm sure the Sens fans will be eating their boos when Canada wins it's 5th gold in a row. The drive for five is alive.

Too bad that they aren't doing very well this year. Better luck next time!
