Temperature hasn't got over 90 here in assfuck Ohio. Which is rather nice.

I wanna start a free folk/doom metal band. It'd be like Yob meets John Fahey fronted by Joanna Newsom.

I think about this stuff all the time. I wanna make an indie rock-metal band that alternates happy indie parts with bone-crushing METUHL.

I want in.

Awesome! Now we just need a drummer and Joanna Newsom.

My last idea was Aphex Twin ambient/sick beats underneath acoustic bass solos with epic post-rock build-ups, but then I tried to program rhythms and it was no fun at all so I gave up.

I'm a far better drummer than bass player, haha. We'd have to wear robes and get the word "Wizard" somewhere in out band name.

So one of the senior partners here was leaving the office for the afternoon. I, assuming he was skiving off to pork the mistress or whatever senior partners at boring law firms do on their afternoons off, cheerfully said, "have fun!" He turns around slowly. "It's my mother's funeral," he says.

I know I come over on here as Leatherface's weirdo uncle half the time, but in real life I gen-you-wine-ly try to be a pretty likeable, cheerful guy, even if I am his Goatfulness on teh inside. This is pretty hypocritical of me, being a manic depressive whining alcoholic, but I hate it when other people start unloading their problems on me - although I smile and nod and look concerned a large part of me is simply uninterested. I'd be a great councillor. Some guy here started telling me about his kid having some illness - and this is the guy I'm 85% sure is the non-flusher - and I interrupted him rather meanly.

The said partner from afore is a midthirties guy, pretty quiet, nice but the sort you be polite to in case he shows up next Monday with a machete and starts cuttin' on people. I much prefer him to the Italian stereotype who's my main boss, however. I should write a sitcom about this place.

I mean, unless you're telling me that you've wired a few kilo of C4 up in the basement because you're dying of cancer, fuck off and leave me alone! People who tell you stories about their kids are the worst. Why on earth would I be interested in your child?

Worst of it is when they tell you how great their 2 yo is. Like he's the fucking first human being to have stand on two feet and bable a few words. Damnit, that pisses me off!

God, one of the partners has the walls covered with his kids' drawings. They're fucking terrible! Can you not love your child for who he or she is, do you need some goddamn evidence of some skill before you can show it affection?! Grrr.
