Thanks to Wayne Rooney's baby I now know that in Celtic dialects Kai means "keeper of the keys."

Weird, no?

Found an awesome HP Lovecraft quote from Call of Cthulhu and made it my sig. :D

I don't actually agree with it, but it's still cool.

Fucking awesome quote. Lovecraft has an amazing way with words.

It really inspired me so I'm going to try and wedge it into a review of the new Tenebrae in Perpetuum album.

I just realized how mainstream a lot of old thrash bands/metal bands are today. I went to hottopic.com to get my girl something for her birthday, and in the bandshirts I saw some stuff from Burzum, Nuclear Assault, Destruction, Kreator, Sodom, Mercyful Fate, The Cult, King Diamond, Candlemass, Immortal, Down, Death and loads of others.
Haha

"An oddity of a trick or treater came to my door. It was a young man dressed in a fairy costume with vampire teeth. I didn't know whether he was a fairy or a vampire, so I asked him. He replied, "Both; I'm Edward from Twilight. He then proceeded to get all of my candy."

:D

Fans To AC/DC - "Change The Setlist!"

AC/DC fans have issued a formal complaint to the band via the website www.acdcfans.net to change the show setlist. The Black Ice tour has featured the same songs in the same order since the start of the tour.

Says the site:

"On the current Black Ice World Tour, during which some of us having travelled across Europe, the United States and flown between the two continents (with flights already booked to Australia to catch the Australian leg), we have listened to you play the same great songs each and every night. We absolutely appreciate every song you play, but we can't help but wonder if the band is getting a little bored of playing the same songs night after night.

Are you aware there are thousands of fans just like us who have spent months discussing the Black Ice World Tour setlist, every one of them hoping that the band will play something other than songs geared towards casual fans? - the sort of fans that put money in your pockets, but who don't have the same level of passion for your music as us. They may cheer at the concerts, they may go home happy... but they only came to hear Thunderstruck. They don't eat, sleep and shit AC/DC like we do.

As the greatest band on Earth, we think it is a travesty that you are not playing songs that are dear to yourselves and your long term loyal fans - the songs from albums that critics wrote off, but which we both know are some of the finest from your back catalog.

So, we'd like you to consider changing the setlist. We won't be rude and say "play this" or "don't play that" - we'll leave it to you to decide - surprise us!

Please give us, and the many thousands like us, some hard hittin', heavy rockin' tracks that we, the true long term fans of AC/DC, know and love.

Thank you for your time and your music.

Muhmuh-muh-muh we're the chosen ones, we spend all our time and money following a washed up rock band around the world and think it somehow makes us special rather than a bunch of sad, lifeless morons whose musical taste hasn't developed a single iota in 25 years."

Radagast to AC/DC fans - "Pull your heads out of your arses!"

I don't think there is anything wrong with altering up a setlist a little bit. But that does seem a little much

My story? Well, since you asked nicely, I'll tell it. But I haven't told this to anyone in a great while.

My story begins in the great white north, which used to be Russia's nickname until the Canadians stole it for their own branding purposes. Though I was born in Alaska, I was abandoned by my mother at the age of two. She sent me floating off into the Bering Strait. Fortunately I had a hyper-active thyroid which kept me warm enough to float down an ice flow toward the then Soviet Great White North. Apparently I was delirious and all I could manage to say was baby-talk gibberish. The Russians - Petor and Petora (which of course is simply Russian for Marv and Ruby) Kirlochenko - who had rescued me, found the baby-talk endearing and assumed I was a handicapped child. To this day I have no idea how they knew I was so terrible at golf.

So there I lived in Russia until the age of 12 when I was sent to the Untied States of America as an exchange student. I went to Delaware and in exchange, the Russians were sent former President Lyndon Baines Johnson, who I am told loves goulash. Sadly for LBJ, goulash is actually a Hungarian dish.

In Delaware I was put to work in a conveyor belt factory. We used wheelbarrows to move the conveyor belt pieces around. I'll never forget cubie, my favorite wheelbarrow. Her soft trundling kept me assured of the stability of my belt load many a time. For a while cubie would be the love of my life...that is until I met Tanya, who introduced me to her roommate Sarah's best friend Nancy at Tanya's sister's (Drew) baby shower. I always thought a baby shower was when a pregnant woman was given gifts to help her raise her newborn. Apparently in Delaware, it's actually a ritual that involves being pelted with babies.

Nancy and I danced flirtatously and the twinkle in her eye told me everything I needed to know. It said to me "stop reflecting the sunlight into my face with your wristwatch" and so I did. From that moment on, she was hooked on me. She knew I would do anything for her. Well, within reason. For example, I would not box a homeless man for a stick of trident gum for her. That would be silly.

Fast forward 30 odd years. Literally, they were odd. Today we have two and a half kids and a slightly used wheat thresher. And every December, I take them to the local rink when a local beer league plays and I convince them it's the NHL. I think the eldest is starting to catch on to my sham but until he does, good times. Good times.

Time to make Goat jealous, haha.

Guess who got free entry to comedy legend Stewart Lee's show in Leeds last night, due to having a gf on the staff at the venue?

That's right, twas I!

It was great, and he revealed that he'd been to school with all the original (pre-Scum) lineup of Napalm Death.

After the gig he was doing a signing and I went up to meet him.

ME: Hi. Can you sign this please?
*Hands over CD of "Stewart Lee's Pea Green Boat"*
STEWART: Hi. Of course.
*Pause*
STEWART: What's your name?
ME: Oh. Charlie. That's with an "ie" at the end, not "ey".
STEWART: Sure.
*My gf arrives, wearing a shirt with the name of the venue and "Staff" written on it in big letters*
ME: And this is my girlfriend. She works here.
STEWART: Yes. I can see that.
*Silence while he writes his name on my CD*
ME: Was it true about Napalm Death?
STEWART: Yes, absolutely. But this was before the debut album. The only one who actually made it on to Scum was Nik Bullen.
ME: Cool.
STEWART: They sounded very different back then, though. They changed a lot by the album.
ME: I can imagine, yeah.
STEWART: Right, fair enough then.
*He starts talking to someone else*
