Bahahaha did anyone see the Croatia - Australia match? The referee gave a croatian player 3 (!) yellow cards before sending him off, and he didn't give Australia a penalty when a croatian defender was playing handball inside the penalty area. I guess his World Cup is over now...

Ha ha ha ha ha ha, my dad and I couldn't stop laughing about the 3 yellow cards. What would that merit anyway, expulsion for a year?

Ok I've been watching the cup and here are my impressions:

1. TOO MANY CARDS!!!!

2. USA played like shit and got what they deserved.

3. Brazil is not invincible.

4. I'm really glad Arsenal signed Rosicky!

5. Portugal and Argentina are going to be serious contenders.

6. Mexico looks like they're on life support.

7. If Germany doesn't make the final, it's a huge upset.

1.a lot of the cards are justified
2.USA always plays like shit, last time they had luck with their group and the referees
3.if you have seen the first 8 minutes of the second half of Brazil-Japan, you would see how great they are
4.agreed
5. Argentina-yes, Portugal-maybe
6. Mexico is a team you should underastimate, they are a great tournament team
7. i hope they strand in the second rounds

trust me, Portugal is not a serious contender.

we are nowhere near the level displayed by Spain or Argentina or Brazil (every now and then this world cup :P).

we can win, but none of our games was a "clear" victory, we simply manage. not cool.

also, the cards are justified, and the usa sucks at footie.

"BUT AZRAEL WE BEAT YOU IN 2002 LOL"
we stormed through qualification and came from a great euro 2000 performance, we had the last Golden Generation players, and we fucked up. i blame the coach for stupid tactics and alternative teams at a time when he shouldn't have been experimenting.

"BUT WE ARE REALLY HIGHLY RANKED IN THE FIFA RANKING THINGY"
the USA and Mexico are the only good teams in a generally shit (and i mean shit) qualification area.

Yes, I feel the same way.. oooh and btw Italy has got also a great team, I love Pirlo, one of the greatest defensive midfielders in the WorldCup, and then you got Totti, Nesta, Cannavaro, amazing team.... It just lacks a good right-back, I guess.

By far the best performance by France so far in the WC today. I hope Domenech has the guts to put Zidane on the bench against Spain (but I doubt it...). Everybody's expecting him to do everything, but he just isn't up to the task anymore. He simply isn't the wizard he was a few years ago. With Henry and Trezeguet on the pitch the french offense was just so much better than their other matches so far.

Agreed. Although Togo isn't the best of teams. And what was wrong with Ribery? He had numerous amounts of shots lined up straight at the goal which he overshot like mad. He needs to get his act together.

True, but against Togo they at least tried to attack, while the whole team acted like they were on valium against Switzerland. And you're right about Ribery...some of his shots were almost hilariously bad :?

France played a good game, but then again it was against Togo.

they have to get their shit together, or Spain will destroy them.

I think France can beat Spain, and I can see them doing better than expected in this tournament. Spain have raised expectations on the basis of a 4-0 victory over a really crappy Ukraine performance, and their defence looked like it would be vulnerable against better attacking players. Had France shown more composure in front of goal against Togo it could have been 4 or 5-0, and then they'd be back among the frontrunners.

As for England, can we beat Ecuador? I fucking hope so, but I'm not as sure as I was a couple of weeks ago. If there is going to be a shock this round it could well be for us, although it pains me to say it. If we get through we will desperately need Rooney to be functioning at full strength, as well as an error-free John Terry to stand a chance against Holland or Portugal.

i think Togo can be better than they were yesterday, they're still better than South-Korea and Japan.

I just turned off Germany - Sweden. It's just too painful to watch. Germany has 2-0 and a swedish player just got sent off. JESUS GOATFUCKING CHRIST I HAVEN'T SEEN A SWEDISH NATIONAL TEAM SUCK THIS BAD IN MY ENTIRE FUCKING LIFE!!! The whole team plays like a bunch of scared kittens. The first half against England was good compared to this...

Yeah, and it was Henrik fucking Larsson. When he misses a penalty, you know something is really, really wrong...

Mexico is dominating Argentina and the referee is protecting Argentina. That last foul should have been a red card...

I think Argentina playing like this won't reach the finals. Brasil maybe but Gana may surprise them though.
I believe Germany has the strongest team right now, Italy and Spain are a BIG quetion mark.

Last but NEVER the least, my team, Portugal, are the runner ups of the European Championship, so I do think they haven't shown their true potencial against none of their group teams, including Mexico!!! Netherlands maybe a trouble, they play well, but we have more chances to win.
