Roshamon - watched this with my philosophy class, most of them thought it was awful because it was done in the 50s. i loved it though, the concept was very interesting (nobody wanted to talk about the meaning of the differences in the stories with me though!) and when the girl that the dead guy spoke through creeped me out.

Dr Strangelove - hilarious movie. reminded me of the Coen Brothers actually. i cracked up every time the president said "Dimitri"

Akira Kurosawa? Never watched any of his films, but i suppose i should.

And yeah Dr. Strangelove is fucking awesome  I love when Strangelove starts ranting about breeding and when he stands up at the end. An George C Scott had me crying when he started ranting about living in mines and caves lolol.

Martyrs- br00tal French horror that caused a big stir at the horror festivals.

Pretty, pretty good. Although before it started I got tacitly annoyed by the dudes sitting behind me going on about how good Quarantine was, although, of course, they handn't seen [REC]. Watch the originals, people!

The Orphanage - Great film, nice and creepy, well-acted, another winner from Del Toro! Not sure if it was better than Pan's Labyrinth, though.

yeah, great movie. it maintained tension throughout with barely any need for "BOO!" moments.

Little Miss Sunshine

Much better than I expected. I thought it'd be one of those gay indie-films that get recognition just for being indie. Garden State is a good example of that.

In Bruges

Simple, and simply awesome. I now have a new-found respect for Colin Farrell. How great was that scene where he judo-chops the midget?

Kidulthood and Adulthood

The first one was definitely better than the second one, although Adulthood was very touching and way deeper. They both felt kind of amateurish though.

admittedly i hated that movie. i fail to find anything "hilarious" about this "dark comedy".

It sounds like you read some misguiding reviews before watching it. I didn't really expect it to be funny and I enjoyed almost every minute of it, but admittedly, there weren't many laughs.

I just finished watching Sunshine and oh my fuck what a great film. There was basically not a single flaw in it, except that I didn't want it to end. Easily the best film I've seen in a long time.

In Bruges and Sunshine were great films. The only character I really liked in LMS was the smackhead grandpa, plus the ending felt contrived and silly compared to rest of it.

I was laughing my ass off at the grandpa scenes, those were hilarious, especially when he goes off about how the kid needs to fuck more chicks "you're jail bait, they're jail bait, it's perfect." I agree about the ending though, it was pretty shitty.

the ending made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, also it's not any more contrived than the various people in the family :\

Cue *a young girl dancing to stripper music at a beauty pageant make you feel warm and fuzzy inside?* jokes.

I didn't realize how campy Spiderman 2 was. Good ol' Sam Raimi.

The second half of Death Proof was win. Ships mast, the car chase, Kurt Russell being a pussy (hilarious), and an axe kick. Cool.

Started There Will Be Blood, but couldn't finish. Not becasue I didn't like it, but because it was too late and I needed sleep. I will try finishing it tonight.

Tales from the Crypt's Bordello of Blood. I forgot how funny the one liners were in this movie. Too bad the rest sucked so badly.

Wanted to see that for a while. Hopefully it'll get a release over here, if it hasn't already and I've missed it.

RW: Happy Go Lucky. Nice to see someone cheerful, and Eddie Marthingy is awesome. 3.5/5
