AAAAAAAAARGH!! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!

part I - Costinha
FACT - Costinha almost got us thrown out of Euro 2004 after he practically gave the ball for Owen to score against us
FACT - Costinha efectively fucked it all up for Portugal when he let Charisteas through to score Greece's goal in the final
FACT - Costinha played for a few months in a shitty russian club and spent the rest of the season unemployed.


with this is mind, HOW THE FUCK is he ALWAYS in the portuguese starting lineup?! i mean, FUCK! we're not talking about a good player that's unemployed, we're talking about a shitty player that's unemployed.

Petit, on the other hand, plays well for both the portuguese team (WHEN HE GETS A CHANCE) and Benfica, and was in the starting team for most of Benfica's games this season, and we're talking about a club that made it to the CL 1/4 finals.

yet somehow, people find it surprising when Petit is in the starting lineup. but no, not me, to me, Petit being in the bench instead of Costinha is an INSULT to Petit and his work this season. but nevermind that, because

FACT - Costinha got himself sent off unnecessarily, making a game ten times harder than it was supposed to be.

and you know what, i bet that if we make it past England, he'll be in the starting lineup again. fucker.

part II - Pauleta

last night he missed a shot that could've killed the game. now, one could say "but Azrael he never gets many shots anyway" HE DOESN'T BECAUSE HE JUST SITS THERE WAITING FOR THE BALL TO FALL PERFECTLY ON HIS FEET. you NEVER see him even try to win a ball that's not likely to be his.

again, why people find it surprising that Nuno Gomes is in the starting lineup is beyond me. can no one see past his "paper goal record" made against teams like kuwait and azerbaijan?
NG only gets to play when Pauleta is suspended or injured, but he almost always does a good job for the team. for crying out loud, he scores a brilliant goal against Spain in 2004 and Pauleta gets to start right in the next game!

part III - Conclusion

ANOTHER shitty game from 2 criminally overrated shitty players.

the good:
- Ricardo is showing some confidence
- defense is less shaky

the bad:
- Costinha sucked (again) :roll:
- Pauleta sucked (again) :roll:
- Nuno Valente played horribly and was only miraculously not sent off
- Deco shouldn't have been sent off! he was thrown to the ground by Cocu, who went "clean"! bah!
- the ref was generally a prick, to both teams.

and rio, Figo shouldn't have done what he did, but it wasn't a headbutt. the guy stared blankly at him for two hours or so, and then suddenly falls to the ground. that's some OSCAR MATERIAL right there! or BAFTA or something. yeah.

but of well, we're through... the problem will be the team that plays against England, it'll be either mostly people from the bench or the usual 11 with everyone too scared of getting another yellow card.

Edit: although you're right that it was a joke how he went down holding his face. But a headbutt is a headbutt and he is incredibly lucky to be allowed to play the England game.

I wouldn't class that as a headbutt. Perhaps a particularly vicious nudge.

But a nudge using the head.

If FIFA won't act on this, I guess it's up to me.

I just have to decide whether to form my own angry mob here and fly over, or go to Germany alone and do some rabble rousing once I arrive.

I can't believe it... The Italians, with less one player, scored the victory goal on a NON-EXISTING penalty at the 90'+3 min, because the italian threw himself to carve a foul... when the refery gave only 3minutes... Talking about corruption (Italian) and lack of sportsmanship... :?

zomg I can't believe the England game is the only one so far this round that wasn't ruined by incomptetent boobery from bungling referees.

the penalty was a bit justified because the australian player tried to tackle him that failed but Grasso still fell over him(ok he took a dive but any professional attacked would do it) and 80% of the referees would make that a penalty.

Stolen stolen stolen. Australia really did deserve to win. Italy did nothing to show superior skill. Atleast when Argentina beats Germany (God forbid we lose), we get to take out the Italians, unless that ref is bought off too.

Agreed. If I was australian I would have hired a hitman to threat that referee. And to add insult to injury, the guy who shot the penalty was Francesco Totti, quite possibly the fotball player I detest above all others.

The referees fucked up this tournament. It's all that fucking Blatter's fault.

Yeah a game with a nonexisting red card too..
