Why on earth did you buy this crap?

Didn't buy but rent. I'm a member of a Canadian site called gameaccess.ca, I pay a monthly fee, make a list of games I want, they send them to me as they become available, I receive game(s) in the mail, play games, return games, rinse and repeat.

I had Dragon Age 2 in there because I somewhat enjoyed Dragon Age. But that was long ago, those feelings have passed.

Kinda want too. What emulator do you use for it?

Desmume, as it's the only ds emulator for mac, but I'm sure google will help you.

Nifty. Just checked out the website. How long can you keep games?
I just buy/sell my games used on eBay, or buy Steam's crazy price cuts. I sometimes buy at full price (NHL 12, Skyrim, SWTOR), for games I know I'm probably going to play for years (ridiculously low money spent per hours played ratio).
Anyway, just found a local website with the same kind of offers, I'm going to do this as well for casual games. Thanks for the tip.

And, Dragon Age is good enough, but DA2 is a catastrophe.

Yeah, Dragon Age 2 is just shit, what a shame

I'm blasting through Mass Effect 2 at the moment because I forgot to finish it when I played it the first time. I am so pumped about the third one coming out soon. I just hope they add more weapons, there are like 2 assault rifles, 2 shotguns, 2 heavy pistols, 2 sniper rifles and a shitload of heavy weapons in ME2 for some reason. WTF is up with that.

As long as I pay my monthly fee, I can keep the games for as long as I'd like. I still buy games I know I'll play, like you, but for all the ones I'm unsure of or only slightly interested in, I rent

Dragon Age 2 is a game I might buy for 10 euros at most, which is probably already possible if I could be bothered to shop for them - but Steam has left me lazy + I've vowed not to buy anymore games until March (March Effect 3  ).

I honestly don't think Dragon Age 2 is as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Where its flawed, it's really flawed (i.e., repetitive levels, not being able to change companion armour, repetitive levels, enemy reinforcements coming in every single fight and appearing wherever they want to, making setting up your team for a fight impossible, repetitive levels, and all quests being only resolvable through violence). But it has much better and more interesting companions than Origins, dialogue is more entertaining due to the conversation wheel and voice acting, and its story is both very interesting and dark. Give me political dealings with the Qunari and mage/templar warfare over the lame Blight/Darkspawn story any day. The side quests also tend to be a lot more interesting than they were in Origins, and as long as you're not on Nightmare mode, which is tedious as fuck, combat can be very fun, despite the random spawning enemies. In a lot of ways I prefer it to Origin.

Played Bioshock a few weeks back. Phenomenal game with one of the best twists in gaming I've ever seen and some incredibly creepy atmosphere.

Although I agree on pretty much everything you said, I think these:

Quote:

are characteristics of a very bad RPG. Besides, I hate the game being disgustingly simplified. I loathe that trend in video games.
This is just my opinion, and to each his own of course.

Maybe I should of kept Dragon Age 2. I found the first one to be too hard, then again fighting trolls and dragons is not what I consider fun. So yes, to each his own.

Goldeneye remake sucked.

Bought Star Wars: The Old Republic two days ago to fill the void that is my life outside of schoolwork these days. I have already cancelled my subscription.

I was going to write a massive post about why I'm not enjoying the game, but I'm too tired to make an analysis at the moment. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I played WoW for 2 years which made me disillusioned when it comes to MMO's. They always look amazing on the surface, but end up being empty and soulless. Another big issue is that I don't have time to immerse myself into all the storylines, I always skip through dialogue so I don't really enjoy the questing as much as I could if I had more time.

I did love the Flashpoint that I played though, really cool to play with other people.

Yes, the game would definitely be better if the useless side quests were replaced by a boatload of Flashpoint missions + dozens of PvP modes + intense PvE raids. Keep the storyline of the 8 main quests, and we'd have a very good game.
I'm still playing it, but I admit I have to make myself play it.

I'm definitely going to play a bit more before my game time runs out. It is after all a Star Wars game, that alone makes it a pretty cool game. The first Flashpoint I played was The Esseles and it was a really intense experience being team up with a Jedi Knight jumping around, swinging her double-edged light saber while I'm throwing grenades and blasting away with my autocannon, all accompanied by the original Star Wars music. It's a shame I have to grind through a bunch of shitty stuff to get to those awesome moments.

Resi 5. Because the trailer for Resi 6 is so fucking fantastic that it actually forced me play 5 for the first time.
