My brother in law has a 60" 3D screen. Pretty sick.

Haven't seen anything in 3D yet to be honest, but the full HD is a thing of fucking beauty. Especially for sports. Gaming too by the way.

3D seems kinda pointless to me. I don't see how it would add anything to the experience besides maybe "WOW THAT THING JUST JUMPED OUT AT ME." :\

my friend (who, granted, works at Sony) says that the introduction of 3D will be like the introduction of colour TV's all that time ago.

Yeah. They're kind of shit; the biggest issue obviously being the glasses you have to wear.

I would say he's vastly overstating its relevancy. Color doesn't require you to wear silly glasses that make the screen blurry if you don't wear them. And again, I don't see how 3D will add anything to the TV or movie experience. Having a little more depth of field and projectiles jumping out from the screen at you doesn't seem like too much of a major innovation to me. It seems to me like novelty for novelty's sake; it's relatively new and I guess that's enough for people to go nuts for it.

Agreed. And after all, Azrael's friend is probably just a douche, since he works for Sony.

Why would anyone write this? If I thought this much about the term hipster or wrote so terribly I hope a friend would punch me in the head and tell me to snap out of it.

That was written in French by a Slovenian and translated to English. Hence the clutter. However, though, it dwelled on Lacan so it was mildly incomprehensible unless you're into that kinda shit. However, I loled at the Foucault joke.

imo taking a paragraph and referencing both King Kong and Prometheus to say that people didn't like an article because it didn't give a good definition of hipster is bad writing no matter what language it's in. Although mebbe the article is a joke.

Having a field of depth can really bring a movie to life (IE Avatar). Yes, it had a shit story but the visuals were amazing. Granted, 3D won't take off unless the tech advances to the point were glasses are not necessary.

I saw that movie in 3D. It's still probably one of my least favorite movies ever. I really didn't think that the 3D added anything that I wouldn't have gotten had I seen it in regular 2D.

Quite a funny article, reads like Zizek self-satirising.

 My natural ability to skim/ignore psychoanalysis made me miss that.
