It's the same thing that is happening in all Baltic States, but I say that there is still a big amount of Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians who aren't genetically mixed with Slavs. But this amount decreases fast, because almost all young people emigrate from here. I feel sad for those Balts who want to save their traditions and a nation as a whole.

Yeah, Estonians are genetically closer to Finns than Russians, but have a lot of Russian cultural influence. After the soviet union fell apart, Estonian people have been desperately searching for their own national identity.

I think it's better to say "patriotism" instead of "nationalism". Not everyone over here agrees with Vikernes on his formula: nationalism=patriotism & extreme nationalism=Nazis as we know them (skinheads, etc).

Patriotism can be ok in very small doses- hell, I support England in football matches- but nationalism = patriotism converted into a political ideology, which only ever leads to bad places.

Market protectionism, racial tension, prejudice, persecution of asylum seekers, an hysterical far right propanganda "newspaper" creeping into the mainstream press... This is what nationalism has brought to the UK. What do we have in return? Why, "National Identity" of course... Possibly one of the most nebulous, divisive and unfullfilling concepts ever to be forced upon the public's collective psyche.
