Same here. I was very good at writing poetry and short stories in high school, always got good responses from my friends and teachers but I have the same problem, how will I do in English ? Oh, sorry, I forgot to say, you don't have to do it in English. But, try and bring along a translation as well, just so English reliant people can get the jist. Basically, it's like an oppertunity to win votes with the English, but also appeal to your countrymen with the "Real" version. So please, be true to your language.

I would have replied earlier, but my internet for some reason decided this site would no longer work, until today.

I would also be interested in trying, but, unfortunately I am gonna be gone for the entire month of March. In BC to visit some family.

So I hope this goes well and everyone has fun with it so there will be another one at some point and I can bust out some not to good lyrics that would probably be as twisted as Metalhead's.

I don't think I will take part in the competition. Most of my poetry is in danish. Even though I could translate it I doubt that I would be able to preserve the poetic value. I'm not really up to writing anything new at the moment. I've been feeling empty lately so if I tried to write anything it would probably be forced. For the moment I feel more like the pump than the fountain artistically speaking.

I'll be happy to read and vote however.

I really like the idea of judges as well, you OFC, Eisenfaust, Eyesore could independantly give marks or something, must find a way to make sure you don't vote when you're on your own... Hmm, on second thought, I think it's better if we all vote, it's a lot more fun, and we'll all read eachother more thoroughly

Here's what I was thinking...

3 non competitors, always part of the panel. 3 participants, changing for every match, selected in advance, and then the tie breaker, a single vote cast by the "people," IE the results of a poll involving everyone minus the assigned and permanant judges.

So, 7 votes. But, really, this isn't my choice. I'm willing to take suggestions, or even submit to mob force. If you come up with an idea you like enough, IMPOSE IT ON ME! I'm all ears. (And submissive tears.)

Oh, I am pretty serious about what I do.. Even though it is primarily for my own pleasure for the time being.. Thank you for the kind words..

Seeing as how, what determines good poetry is a very subjective matter, a voting might be most fair to the contributors. The outcome will probably be influenced by the taste of the judges otherwise... But as I wrote I'll be happy to judge the poetry. Be it as an official judge or just by voting.
