me at the end-of-year "party". there was no one else that knew how to play an instrument so i just got up and started soloing.

how is hair metal different than 80s rock? to me Mötley Crüe and Poison are hair METAL.

I was agreeing that hair metal and 80's rock is no different. Hair metal, essentially, never existed. It was all 80's rock.

When someone says 80's metal, though, do you think "hair metal?" Not me.

But it isn't complicated. 80's metal is metal made between 1980 and 1989. Hair metal is not actually metal, therefore not 80's metal.
