I've always viewed smoking as the perfect symbol for the stupidity of human race.

No...but there's really no way that the advantages of smoking (if there are any) outweigh the disadvantages.

Then why would anyone start? You haven't smoked, so you only know the disadvantages (which are shoved in your face and grossly exaggerated). What you don't know is the calming euphoria.

I hope you can't get knob cancer from the calming euphoria that rubbing one out can bring.

I think it's better to understand the problem than to theorise (shit, this is going back to that God thread again, doh!). As mentioned I'm an ex-smoker, I used to smoke 20 cigs a day on and off (more on, though) for 14 years. I packed them up last Halloween, but I now casual/social smoke (in other words I get a few beers down me and I turn into a steam engine in more ways than one!).

Fuck yeah it's an addiction, but whilst I'm having every one of those smokes, I feel so fucking good. It warms the soul, truely. It's my mind that has convinced me of this and no amount of will power, nicotine subs will EVER change that. It doesn't matter if it's killing you. I saw my Grandmother die of 'Smoker's Lung' and I loved her more than any other person who has ever existed. Smoking is cool, it's soothing and just helps you get your head straight when things aren't going your way. It's a moment's pause, it helps clarity, it's the dirty whore you can't help but revisit, despite the knob rot you've got from her.

Damn right it's a stupid habit, but as an ex-smoker, I would never criticise or become 'Holier Than You' to anyone trying to quit (especially if they've never tried it) as IT REALLY DOES NOT HELP!!!

This post has come from someone enjoying a crappy day at work. If you disagree with this point, please email shutthefuckupyourighteousarsehole@doIgiveafuck.com

I decided never to try smoking cigarettes because pretty much everyone who did told me to never start.

Pretty much what I say to non-smokers too. As you can tell, I've got hang-ups on smoking and in many ways my life would be much better off from not smoking. But, hey-ho, you only live once and you can't be riddled with regrets for it. Beer and cigs for me tonight!

Dude there are no advantages in smoking.
Smoking is a ritual just like praying..

Yes I did. How does this matter? What I said remains true regardless.

What I said above, I had already said it this year, in a room full with smokers: my girlfriend and 6 of my close friends. I could see none of them liked what I said, but none of them could give me a reply. Because deep down, they all knew I was right.
