How so? Ethics should depend on their effects on humanity, not on their effects on an imaginary mythological construct. It's a very central philosophical concept, but one that cannot be ignored.
Religiously derived morality will never be as good as humanitarian derived morality.

If the larger child doesn't deserve to be prosecuted as an adult for what looks like severely hurting the bully, then the bully certainly doesn't deserve such harsh physical punishment. They are both children, ffs; corporal punishment is wrong for adults and is certainly wrong for children. Neither should receive legal punishment, but I hope both get some sort of councilling.
