Elegy - Can't say Ben Kingsley was high on my list of 'actors i would like to watch have sex with Penelope Cruz', but this was pretty good. Would've liked more stuff about Kinglsey's son and friend because it seemed to get better when it focused on those relationships.

The In Crowd - I usually love cheesy Cruel Intentions-type movies but this was kinda shitty and lame.

Eden Lake - Fuck. I've never been super depressed by a horror movie but this one got to me.

The Mist

The ending makes an otherwise average film really memorable, plus I love Stephen King stuff.

W. - A bit clawless (Stone clearly likes Bush as a person) but all give good performances (except Mr Fantastic as Tony Blair... wtf?) and whilst it's probably at least half bollocks, keeps you watching for the full 2 hours.

The guy who played Rove was brilliant, made me laugh. I think Stone's point wasn't to show the "nice guy" Bush, but the complete ineptitude of him as a president. He kept showing him as the guy you'd want to have a beer with, NOT the guy you'd want running the country.

Capote? Yeah, Cheney was great too. I don't know, it was very sympathetic - showing him as a nice guy out of his depth, indeed. Stone's lost his way a bit since Alexander, that 9/11 film was bloody awful.

I think it was very critical of the Bush administration, just not so much of the man himself. It's like blaming a baby. Cheney's manipulative presence was quite obvious, as well as the direct conflict between Rumsfeld and Powell.

Mirrors - Not complete shit (Kiefer wasn't quite like JACK BAUER at first) but it went silly when they bought the rednecks and nuns in.

just finished The Wrestler.

Oh gosh did it really just end with him up on the rope with Marisa Tomei deserting him?

I need to watch that movie someday. May be next week-ish?

Anyway, I watched Ferris Beuller's Day Off last night. I must admit, at my "old age" (26), I can't help finding Ferris to be a snot-nosed brat. Nonetheless, I still love this movie. And let's be honest: I'm sure all of us wanted to "take a day off" at some point in our high school lives.

Samurai I. I think that's it, I haven't watched a whole bunch of movies recently.

Miyazaki's got a new movie coming out.

I'm super excited. <3

EDIT: Voice actors include Cate Blanchett and Liam Neeson. Fuck yeah.

A lot of stuff, but...

Transformers 2--certainly not good but actually not bad. The special effects really are pretty amazing.

A Series of Unfortunate Events--Jim Carrey is HILARIOUS and the girl that plays Violet is really really hot. How come she hasn't made any more movies?

Underworld trilogy: first one good, second one eh, third one good.

Hatchet: Camp as fuck homage to 80s slasher films. Great over-the-top gore. Kinda lame comedy a lot of the time. Tits weren't bad.

I've been thinking of seeing the 3rd Underworld. My expectations are basically Kate Beckinsale in tight leather and that's about it.

Onegin - Ralph Fiennes does his "i'm great at looking unhappy/uncomfortable" thing, Liv Tyler cheeses things up. Ok movie.

Howl's Moving Castle - Cute movie. The bouncing scarecrow and the coughing dog were great.

Mmmm...Emily Browning. Now that she's 20 I can feel ok about checking her out. She actually turned down the lead role in that awful teen shitfest Twilight. Hopefully she'll do porn instead.

How To Lose Friends and Alienate People - Simon Pegg owns. I think the film's main flaw was that Camera Diaz is kinda lame so love with her was never established as a better goal than sex with Megan Fox. The drunken snoring was the most endearing thing her character even did!
