Don't knpw if this is the right thread, but at least two bombs just went off in the city center of Oslo, the capital of Norway. At least one person is dead, and according to the police there are two more bombs hidden somewhere in the city.

We'll soon know, as a man was arrested a few minutes ago it seems. He is responsible for the shoot-out.

Kids dead by the water. No number has been confirmed yet for your information. That islamic claim is also unconfirmed. The shooter was blond and looked scandinavian.

I'd just mention that the Islamic group claim is based on a guy who reads Islamist internet forums, so I'd hardly call it evidence. Whoever it was, anyone that uses their ideology to kill innocent people is utter scum, less than filth.

The shooter MAY have been observed by the government buildings before the explosions. The guy wore a police uniform, hence it's not certain it was him.

Anyway, whoever did this deserves death. 21 years of imprisonment is the maximum here however.

So apparently there are two seperate incidents that they believe are linked.

Any idea why they think they are linked? How far apart did they occur?

Firstly, it's the labour party that governs Norway. Their buildings as well as governments buildings were targeted in the bombing. The shooting occured on a island where the Youth Labour Party had their summer camp.

Reports of the shooting came 1-2 hours after the bomb(s). The gunman also spoke of more attacks the next couple of hours.

EDIT: Ten confirmed killed in the shooting. So less than expected. So the total is 17. 10 of them kids. Tragic. The number may be higher in the bombings though.

So it would be a one-man job ? Unbelievable. Somehow, I almost hope it is not.

So sad that this happened to such a liberal and open country.
