You are so critical of Islamic nations, calling them all towelheads (which is on the same level as calling blacks niggers probably)
What? No, the second one is definitely worse.
Odd. I'd put all racial epithets on the same level for the most part. Still some respect needs to be had in these discussions.
It'd be a red herring only if you have the attention span of a child. Just because my enemy kills women and children doesn't mean that I should or would. How is that a hard argument to understand? It doesn't matter what the Islamic fundamentalists we wage war against think of us or how they behave, we supposedly have morals and should stick to them. Maybe we disagree on what these morals are that we have but I'd like to think that we are waging war because we think we have a reason that we should be doing so. Presumably something wrong was done to us, why should we do something wrong back to them in an attempt to make right?
As for how 9/11 should have been responded to? Exactly this. Minus the decade of wars. One war with nothing whatsoever to do with the terrorist attacks and the first war with some justification yet we never deemed 9/11 an act of war which makes it not right to retaliate with war against Afghanistan. 9/11 was deemed a criminal action which we should have taken care of through criminal justice means, not war. We have not only devastated these two countries but the very way which bin Laden gained so much respect, i.e., using his wealth to provide for the impoverished in his country after Soviet and U.S. intrusion, is what we've created the possibility for in Iraq and most likely again in Afghanistan, as seen my the creation of the Mahdi army. Exacerbating the problem is not how I would seek to solve the problem.
Oh bad old America is morally wrong, when the society down there is far more oppressive on every level than we are. True we fucked up in both wars, but once we pull out of the region nothing will change, because they are backward as fuck. Exactly how would we try this situation in our criminal courts, I used to believe that we were able too, but since the hijackers are dead and others involved are hiding it's a bit complicated. I never once heard the term 911 was "criminal", yet I have always heard it used as the term terrorist. Keep in mind these people weren't US citizens, so trying them in our courts would be problematic as they couldn't fall under so many applicable laws.
As for your Osama statement boo fucking hoo, while I'm against the war we've done more to give these bastards infrastructure, while our own countries infrastructure lay crumbling. These muzzies were down in their own shit, and at least we gave them electricity and other goods. Regardless, I think we need to pull out as it's been largely hell for us.
