the choice of acts was rather questionable, of course... Taio Cruz and shit were there, but not one word about Britain's incredible heritage/gift to the world in the form of heavy metal (fucking Sabbath! Maiden! Priest! NAPALM DEATH! argh). i honestly believe any of them would've been well-received, except i guess Napalm Death because come on be reasonable. and they could've capped it on a higher note than fucking Take That....

there was an audience to please, and as a celebration of Britain's musical exports it was quite a good job.

Brazil is more than Samba. there will be Sepultura, plus Gabriel o Pensador, Tribalistas, Gilberto Gil... Tom Jobim! it would be cool if they invited a couple of Portuguese acts, but I very much doubt that'll happen. just pray they don't stick us with 2014/16's equivalent to Gusttavo Lima and that idiot from "Ai Se Eu Te Pego". every summer in Portugal we get one or two Brazilian songs as summer hits, and trust me, it's fucking atrocious stuff. Ai Se Eu Te Pego was last summer's hit, in 2010 it was Rebolation. i'd have samba over that garbage any time.
and if they do something like this ceremony's model thing, prepare to be blown the fuck away

they're quite big there. in countries with little metal traditions, if you're a good export, you matter. same case with Moonspell in Portugal. plus Sepultura did all that tribal shit.

i sincerely believe that Sepultura would get the nod to perform at the Olympics. they might have to tribalise the whole thing or stick to like Roots Bloody Roots, Kaiowas or Ratamahatta or something, but they will play.

Silly posters. Refuse//Resist is the best Sepultura track and would be an awesome way to start the Olympics.
