The Barca - Chelsea game was awesome but sadly it was too early. Both teams deserved to be in the final. I can see Barcelona winning this year, they're easliy the best team around and Ronaldinho is right now and this isn't up for debate "the best player of the world" by far.

FORÇA BENFICA!

Well, Barça is actually playing the best football in Europe. Ronaldinho shows why is the best in the world. He was doing magic all the match, and then, by force, made the decisive goal.

And Deco is the great leader, the man who knows what to do every moment. I really love Deco's game.

The rest of the team was great too. But tonight these two shined as starts.

FORÇA BARÇA!

indeed, Barcelona play some awesome football. it's beautiful but it's also effective. i'd say this is as close to the 92-94 dream team as barcelona has come since then, what with Ronaldinho, Deco, Eto'o...

as for today's matches, i'm rooting for PSV (though i also like Lyon), Arsenal and, of course, BENFICA!!!

Benfica deserve this win, after 10 years of, well, nothing, and to show that you don't need a ton of cash to win.

and mind you, Liverpool's football is just as ugly as Benfica's, so no Portugal/Greece comparisons, thank you.

here's the draw:
Arsenal (England) - Juventus (Italy)
@ Highbury, London
Olympique Lyon (France) - A.C. Milan (Italy)
Internazionale (Italy)/Ajax (The Netherlands) - Villarreal (Spain)

Ronaldinho is nothing short of a football god.... or satan, if you must.

then there's Deco, Giuly, Messi (who hopefully will miss the 1st leg due to injury), Eto'o....

but the road to Paris is laid out, and anything can happen in football.

EU ACREDITO!

What happens in the top video clip? I want to know if he gets away from those two defenders, but it ends just as the one on the right tries to stick his leg in the way...

har har! more Champion's League action as Europe's finest clash tomorrow and wednesday for a spot on the semi-finals.

Tomorrow:
S.L. Benfica (Portugal) x F.C. Barcelona (Spain)
@ Estádio da Luz, Lisbon

Arsenal (England) x Juventus (Italy)
@ Highbury, London

Wednesday:
Internazionale Milan (Italy) x Villarreal (Spain)
@ San Siro, Milan

Olympique Lyon (France) x A.C. Milan (Italy)

--------------------
i'm rooting for Benfica (of course)*, Arsenal (i don't mind them, but italian teams have ugly defensive football and their rock-hard defense would be damn near impossible in case benfica meets them later on), Villarreal (i know that at this point there are no easy teams, but there are "less difficult" ones - and i'd take Villarreal over any Italian side) and Lyon (they're a VERY good team, but their defense isn't as good as AC Milan, if we get them we're screwed).

*GOD DAMMIT! of all the teams we had to get the best in Europe in the draw! fuck! but still... as long as there's at least a 1% chance of us passin, i believe in victory.

FORÇA BENFICA!!

I'm sorry. For you... and for Koeman, our last (and only) Europe championship hero, but Barça will win... I'm sure.

In the rest, I agree with you... better italian teams out of the way.

you never know... as a football fan you probably know how unpredictable it can be.

with man united everyone said that Benfica was screwed, that Benfica didn't stand a chance, and we beat them 2-1, knocking them out. then came Liverpool, defending European champions, undefeated and 1st placed in Chelsea's group, conceding 1 goal in the whole group stage, and we beat them too, against all odds.

Barcelona are favourites and without any doubt the best team in Europe, but "it ain't over until the fat lady sings".

like i said, as long as there's a 1% chance for us, i believe in benfica till the final whistle. it'll be our hardest match in many years, that i know..

No, it's not a 1% chance... Benfica can win, of course, it's impredictable... but the second match at Camp Nou it's very important.
And well, Marquez, Edmilson, Xavi, Messi, and Pujol can't play... And all 5 are basic pieces in Barça... Lucky we have a good bench.

So Benfica have its chances... but the mighty portuguese, the man who rules the battlefield... Deco... plays in Barça. That's the reason I'm sure we're gona win.

But I can be wrong.
