A pint for CAD$3? I'd take that! (for the UK guys, that's £1.20!).

Just so I can get the Yorkshireman out of me (I'm Welsh, but lived in York & Whitby years ago for those who might care), you 'ave it easy, we 'ave it rough over 'ere in t' UK!

Just to do conversions for ya.

The average pint here (bear in mind that Wales is cheaper than most places in the UK) is £2.40 (USD$4.70 or CAD$5.55)

A double JD & Coke is about £3 (USD$5.85 or CAD$7 )

And a case of 24 cans of Carling (lager) is normally £13 (US$25.50 or CAD$30).

Sure you get booze offers, but to drink what you want and where you want normally means top dollar. Talking of which, I'm off t' pub! Have a good weekend chaps!

Me too. Went to quarter beer night at a local bowling alley. Was fun.

:omfg: You mean 25 cents a pint???? shit, and i thought happy hour was good.

When I was in college, we had a bar that sold pitchers for 25 cents on Wednesdays. It was bottom of the barrel shit, but after a few pitchers, no one seemed to mind.

25 cents a pitcher? Fucking Christ, and I'm happy when I go to bars that have it at 3 bucks (Canadian) a pint, or a 24 of Labatt for 15 bucks at a Dep. Shiiiiz.

Yeah, I relish those days. We had another bar that you paid $5 for a shitty plastic 32 oz. mug, but if you brought it back on Thursday nights, you paid $5 cover and got to fill it up with beer for 10 cents or mixed well drinks for $1.50 as many times as you wanted. Oh, to be a college boy again.

Here in Brighton its London prices, so a pint is anything from £2.70 to £3.50. Thats bout $6-7 canadian. So pints for 25c, or about 15-20p is just madness, and a fucking pitcher...for 20 fucking pence!!! My liver wouln't be able to handle drinking regularly in that bar lol.

Umm, you guys don't want to get into the "it's so expensive" game
with a Swede, ;)

Pints - 40-50 SEK [$7 or so]
Pitcher - oh man, umm, 150-200 SEK? [$20-28]
Drinks - 60-110 SEK [$8-16]

Which is why we drink moonshine!

 :dio:

Swedish moonshine! Jesus, I thought I had swallowed paint thinner!

But yeah man, your drink prices and licensing laws are totally crazy. Never seen anything like it before.

Now drinking Hatherwood Premium Bitter, a rather nice beer that the local cheapo supermarket does for £2.19 for a fourpack. Which is... whatever it is is your other currencies.

I'd also buy Jaden a drink to show that I don't really dislike him; he just unintentionally provides so much comedy material.

I know what you mean, I'd do the same for noodles, but I'd need to give him the money to buy it himself, becasue there's no way I'm asking any barman for a shot of cranberry schnaps.

You know, some of it's intentional. That "Fuckin' Metal" picture was intentional. :P

I at least admit to being a bit vain about myself, haha. Oh well, no one's perfect, and you'd probably find me a lot different in real life (assuming there weren't too many mirrors in the room).

But seriously, if anyone from this forum was ever in Vancouver, I'd want to have a drink with them.

Really? I go to Vancouver every once in a while. The last time I was there was 2 summers ago, but I am hoping to go back more. I have some friends on the island, who introduced me to people who dont live on the island.

Man this sucks. It sucked even more when I remembered I need to spend a couple of weeks in Sweden this spring.
