That sucks. But at least you're not being kicked out or (even worse) sent to jail.

This is the second time it happens to me. MIT doesn't have a very strict policy against these things. The third time they catch me they indefinitely cut my connection to the Internet.

Gotta be honest here, downloading something as high-profile as a game like Syphon Filter is only asking for troulbe. If you just stick to downloading obscure metal bands nobody will care.

That suck man, big time. Well, before your internet gets cut-off, you better delete those files you downloaded. Copy em first onto a DVD-R/RW or an external hard disk before you delete them. SO in this way if they do a spot check on your PC/MAC, there's no proof left, but you still have those precious files!! :D

Anyway speakin of pirate land, I don't think Canada beats Malaysia. Despite all the laws we have against piracy, none works. I mean, that's another reason why tourists flock here. Things are sooooo cheap!! The cops will only bust em pirates once in a few months as a cover up for the press, cos we all know the men in blue are being bribed with a lot of cash, and I mean a lot.

I don't think any other country can beat Malaysia when it comes to piracy. Here's a price list of pirated items over here.

CD - RM 5

DVD (1 movie) - RM 7

DVD (3in1 movie) - RM 10

DVD (5in1 movie) - RM 15

DVD (9in1 movie) - RM 21

DVD (25 movie box set) - RM 35

Computer games/PS2/XBOX DVD - RM 5

Note - 1 USD = RM 3.80

Can Canada or any other country beat this? Malaysia rules!!!

As for downloaded items, nobody gives a shit here. The authorities have been threatening us, but there doesn't seem to be any action taken. Yeah a few friends of mine had their internet bandwidth capped, but it's back to normal after a week. Move over here, boys!!!

Wait wait, guys, have you heard about what's going on in Sweden now? If any of you fancy yourself pirates you know about the torrent site Pirate Bay. A bunch of the founders made a political party in Sweden that might end up gaining control of the country. Look up the party to see how ridiculous their stance on copy writes and patents are.

WRANG.

They've had a party for quite some time now, and they didn't even
get past the 4% limit for getting into parliament.

There is however a party in Norway that wants to legalize
downloading of music. This pissed off a lot of muscicians,
especially Enslaved, that went out and "downloaded" a sheep
from the party leader. Hillarious.

Check it

Well too bad I can't understand what they were saying. But it was funny seeing Gruttle and the fatty running down the slope like it's some high profiled covert operation.

Post subject:

well, the party they are talking about, Venstre, has always supported mini companies. Enslaved consider themselves a mini company and finds it wrong that people should be allowed to donwload music. therefore they download the party's leaders sheep.

Author:  hellraiser_xes [ Sun Nov 04, 2007 9:52 pm ]
Post subject:

Haha. Now I get it. Thanks, metal_xxx.

But if the party supports mini companies, why would they encourage the practice of downloading? Wouldn't that harm the mini companies they're standing for? That's very redundant.

Post subject:

yes....i don't really know, but then again im not very into politics.. maybe they dont consider music buisness a mini company.
