Congrats, dude! How were your profs? I've heard MIT tends to have some REALLY strict profs. |

Something else that's interesting about MIT is that a lot of their grad programs don't look at GRE scores and basically consider the GRE worthless. |

I've actually noticed the opposite. Probably because I'm a freshman. I actually haven't gone to class for 3 months and managed to pass all my classes. The way the school works the first semester is that it functions on a "Pass/No Record" basis, where we are given no GPAs, simply a P for pass, or the class isn't counted against us at all. It's a wonderful system. As for my major, I'm leaning towards Chemical Engineering with a minor in Biology and a double major in Business Administration. I'm considering consulting leading to management as a career. |

a guy from a bank came to my uni and said that in the end engineering, like business, is alot about solving problems, and indeed, he was an engineer who worked as a consultant with mckinsey before joining the bank (millennium bcp). |

Congrats ElTipo. You've just finished your first semester. That's awesome. How many more to go? By the way, I've just graduated. Still a bumming jobless prick. |

By the way, I've just graduated. Still a bumming jobless prick. 7 more. That's why 40% of MIT graduates go into consulting. They're trained to be problem solvers. McKinsey is a big employer of MIT alumni. |

Going into a field like consulting right after college is quite impressive, I must say. I'll probably be going into it in a few years, since I'm still building experience as a software engineer right now. |
