Wow, that guy's a piece of shit. I can't even imagine what those kids are going to go through, never having realized that a world existed outside of that basement. Crazy.

Oh yeah I know that, but there was similar case I believe it was in Austria too. Dude has also kept some girl in his basement for 18 years.

This is really one of the most horrible things I've ever read (and that's even without the sensationalised tabloid reporting). What a wretched excuse for a human being.

I have difficulty believing that his wife and an entire community could have no idea what was going on. His crazy runaway daughter came back to the house to abandon 3 newborn babies completely unnoticed. His wife didn't wonder where he was disappearing to every night? No one noticed he was building a fucking dungeon? People must have been turning a blind eye to some extent, even if they didn't know exactly what the situation was.

Absolutely heartbreaking anyway. The three children that lived upstairs lives will be ruined by this as well.

there is a difference between the other girl and this one, though - the other one was being held by some kidnapper, not her own father. not trying to say she's better off because of it, it's just that this is quite a bit more disturbing... her own father?! what the fuck?

I too wondered about how the fuck his wife didn't notice the rather large house modifications this guy was making to keep his daughter and (grand)children in. A very disturbing example of a human regardless.
